Each Parent Thought The Other Was Taking Daughter To Child Care

A 7 month old baby girl died after police say she was left in a locked car for 4 hours in the sweltering summer heat.

Is the mother also in the medical profession?
Not my family, not my child, but I do not understand ANY mother wanting to put a seven-month old baby in child care. I believe it falls under the “without natural affection” category in Romans chapter 1. That’s what I preach in our church, too.

Well, well. I guess nobody was left to die in the car. I guess two peoples’ careers weren’t more important than dropping their kid off at daycare (something I never did, and I raised three kids with far less income that these two upper-mobile superstars earn).
You sound like a defense attorney. First: prove there was a dead baby. Second: Prove it was theirs! Preposterous. Absolute criminal neglect on BOTH parties. They should both be locked up for life.
Or perhaps they should have had an abortion 7 months earlier, and then we wouldn’t be talking about it.
My son has a vivid memory of his sister, then 3 years old, (he was 6) being left in a hot car. I have no recollection of this ever happening (she is 20 years old now), but he insists that she was lost, we searched the house for her, and finally found her in the car. He said, “she was fainting and you put her in the bathtub to revive her.”
This story sounded very weird to me. My daughter had no memory of it, but my older daughter (who was 9 years old at the time) explained that the youngest snitched a bag of chocolate cookies from the grocery bag, and then went to hide in the car while she ate them. She fell asleep in the car, and was found covered in chocolate which is why we had to put her in the bathtub.
Here’s a tip for parents:
When you strap your baby into the car seat in the back, place your briefcase/pocketbook in the back seat as well (or on the floor in the back, whatever).
Then, when you get to the office, you have to OPEN the car’s rear door to retrieve your briefcase/pocketbook. BINGO, there’s junior!

I’m so glad you said the above.
I am with you. I wonder if some of the unbelievable smug people here are really teens. They don’t act, sound or feel like adults. Anyone who has had children knows deep down that there have been times that any one of us could be in these poor people’s shoes. They must be in an agony that is impossible to imagine.
I can think of five close calls we had with babies so I know how this can happen. Distraction, fatigue, lack of sleep, lives too busy, driving and thinking about the day ahead, a baby sleeping in the back seat, facing backwards so you don’t see them.
Nobody deserves this, the baby the parents, nobody. It is tragic and horrible.
I agree. There needs to be some kind of alarm system that sounds when the engine is turned off and there is weight in the car seat. It should beep loudly until the car seat is empty.

I’ve never made a mistake so tragic as this one, but I’ve made mistakes and been spared tragedy only by the grace of God.
I can’t begin to imagine the agony these parents must be feeling... and it will never end...
This cases keep happening and happening. Terrible. The poor child.
Mom is the physician, and Dad is a researcher.
A dumb mistake makes news? Heck around here we have grade school girls giving birth on a toilet and flushing away the newborn...and going back to class.

At least then there's an excuse, although still not a satisfactory one, for their smugness.

The parents's lives are effectively over.
They will never, never forget, nor forgive. They will never be able to enjoy a nice meal, nor their home, nor their family, nor their friends, nor travel, nor church, ...their absence of mind will torment them the rest of their lives...night and day...24-7.
The woman is a doctor...she will never be able to work again...not because anybody is going to prevent her...but for the shame and loathing that she will feel for herself and her husband.
They will suffer horribly for what they did....

The classic "If it saves just one life" or "It's for the children" arguments won't work in this instance because it means giving up an element of control and an excuse for a traffic stop that may yield tens of thousands of dollars and confiscation of the vehicle.
Never will happen.
I can’t imagine going on after this, either.
This couple is so in my prayers.
