I can't think of anything worse than what these people got caught up in...it was an accident...horrible and final.....for all involved....they did not intend to leave that baby in the car.

The parents's lives are effectively over.

They will never, never forget, nor forgive. They will never be able to enjoy a nice meal, nor their home, nor their family, nor their friends, nor travel, nor church, ...their absence of mind will torment them the rest of their lives...night and day...24-7.

The woman is a doctor...she will never be able to work again...not because anybody is going to prevent her...but for the shame and loathing that she will feel for herself and her husband.

They will suffer horribly for what they did....

I hope you are wrong. What you describe would be the destruction of three lives, not just one.

What do you do next after you have done something unforgivable by mistake? Best to forgive yourself and get on with life.
