I often wondered what exactly makes a FReeper a FReeper? Is it the simple act of reading articles on FR? Do you have to post articles or replies? To call yourself a FReeper do you need to engage in effective activism like writing letters to politicians, getting out in the street to carry signs, or, is being a FReeper an attitude. If so, what attitude is that?

My father had a private pilot license, and he let me fly the plane between KC and Topeka when I was little (about 9 years old) and he gave me some "real" pilot wings. Does that count? Aw, shucks, that's awful nice of you to say. But I haven't lived in New York in many years. I'm in the Kansas City area now. We do have a number of FReepers here in KC. And I've meant to get together with some too, but it's just never happened. Yet.

In other words I am just saying as a freeper I am a person. Freepers are people.
It seems trivial but I thought I would point that out.
OK, I first came on FR during the 2000 election when I could not stand the idea of looking at Al Gore on TV for the next 4 years.
I’m a conservative and I lived in California where finding like minds is treacherous. Some how I found FR and loved it, been addicted ever since. I have never posted a thread although I have replied if something or a comment interests me.
Mostly it’s a way of getting my news and being able to make my opinion known about that news, although mostly no one cares. And I find out lots of cool stuff everyday that in my circle no one else knows.
Am I a FReeper? Who knows, but I check this site at least once a day when I’m home.
