After being virtually tied with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for several months, Republican contender Rudy Giuliani now leads Clinton up 47% to 40% in the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.
In the match-up of the frontrunners, this result marks a significant shift. For the last three months the two frontrunners have never been further apart than three percentage points. Last month, Giuliani and Clinton were separated by just a single point.

She’s UP, she’s DOWN!She’s UP, she’s DOWN!She’s UP, she’s DOWN!She’s UP, she’s DOWN!......
She hasn’t been up and down this many times since before Chelsea was born!.................
Here’s hoping and praying Americans will remain Americans and not Commies or Euroweenies.
Not a Rudy fan, but I’ll vote for whatever Republican is running against Hillary in the general, that’s for sure.
Average voters aren’t paying attention to this nonsense, and won’t til middle of next year. So I don’t think anything either have said made any difference.
This story is not about Iraq. But the headline shows a surge benefiting the Republican in the coming election.
This is not an accident. The media knows what's going on in the war.
And she’s only leading Fred by three points.
I’m going to make a bold prediction. I know it’s still early, but I do not see any scenario in which the Democratic candidate can win. Hillary’s unpopular, Barack’s an extremist dolt, and don’t get me started on Edwards. The only questions left in my mind are: 1) Who will be the Rep. nominee? and 2) How much will he win by?
See? The surge is working.
;-)
The diving stock and credit markets will probably help Republicans, and especially Giuliani and Romney, both of whom are rightfully seen as well-versed in domestic economic/financial matters. For most people, hanging on to their homes is a more urgent priority than getting free (or any) health insurance. And most can also figure out that any attempt by Hillary or another Democrat President to set up a nationalized healthcare system is a very long-term proposition.

Exactly. I have a lot of questions about this guy, but if he can beat Hitlery, he has my vote.
I guess the GOPs liberal is ahead of the DNCs liberal right now.
Haha ... :-D
Hillary hasn’t gone down that fast since Mary Caitrin Mahoney was murdered!
Dittos.
Oh-Oh time to pull out the Bill card and cart him around to boost her ratings! Or time for a make Hillary a victim card!
Ol’ Bill campaigned for Kerry. He campaigned for Angelides.
Hope he does for the Hildabeast, what he did for them.
