I don’t recognize the AFP reference: AP is Associated Press, UPI is United Press International, but AFP (Armed Forces Press ??? ) - But why would they be so stupid as to believe this?)
AFP = Agence France Press = Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys.

It’s hard to tell. At first I thought .270, but where are they gonna get rounds like that in Iraq? It’s a pricey hunting round for classy, often pricey, rifles.
Maybe it’s just the distortion of the lens, sort of a fisheye effect. Her hands look bigger than her head.
