Yesterday (Sunday) afternoon he was transfered from ICU to a private room to better accommodate the constant contingent of people (usually between 15 and 30) there to visit with him and to keep him company. Over the weekend he had many of his Marine brothers and sisters that he served with in 37 in Iraq come from all over the country to spend time with Chris, including his former company commander who has since been promoted and now works in the Pentagon, and the former company sargent in charge of PR that assisted Melany and family during their time in Loma Linda. She was on her way from D.C. back to Twentynine Palms where she will be working as a contractor to the USMC. I can’t begin to describe what a wonderful group of people and friends these present and former Marines have been for Chris & Melany and their entire family.
There will be a Marine stationed with both Chris and Melany (24 hrs. a day) until the funeral. I also understand that a group of motorcycle riders from the Beaumont area have volunteered to ride escort with Chris from Houston to Lake Charles, LA (his hometown) where he will be buried. I do not know yet any details of when the funeral will be. Arrangements will be handled by Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA. I will post that information later today when I find out the details.
You guys (Freepers) are the best. You have been there with Chris & Melany and their family and friends from the beginning. Your thoughts and prayers during this entire ordeal have meant more that you could possibly know. There are some amazing prayers that were offered up on this thread as well as the original thread. We now know that Chris is in God’s loving care, and that God had a different plan for Chris. God bless you all, and I thank you - and Chris’ family thanks you - from the bottom of my heart.
This will have us crying, Mike. It doesn’t seem fair, and we don’t understand it when the Lord takes someone good way too early. Our hearts and prayers are with those who were closest to him.
Post 68 Cajun Mike reports that Chris is with the Lord. This is just so tragic beyond words.
Post 68 has Mike’s report. Chris lost his battle. Heartfelt prayers for those left behind who love him and will miss him.

Rest in peace Chris. Prayers for his family.
Just saw this. Chris at least had to chance for a long farewell. A happy death: time to gather himself. Salvation is healing. May this be an occasion for the healing of his family. Physically, psychologically the wounds never heal, or leave a big scar. But spiritually we have high hopes they that they will. Like Issac we are sons of the promise. Like Abraham we can offer all, knowing that God can raise the dead.
Mike, I am deeply sorry to learn this and tearfully I pray for Chris and his family and friends. How beautiful that the marines had such a strong prescence with Chris until the end and also until after the funeral. God bless and comfort all of you.
There are those who say that life is measured in years; and there are others who way life is measured by tears -
but see! The Hand of God reached down to you and gave us the gift of Chris LeBleu, and his life is measured not by the years he lived or the tears he shed, but by the love he gave to you.
Now the gift is given back to the Giver, in humble thanksgiving. May it ever be that when you think of Chris, you will remember the life he lived, loved and walked with you. The Hand of God shall make whole that which was broken - healing Chris, and the hearts of those who love him.
High upon the bright and shining Hills of Heaven, a young man awakes, and he is singing...
