Bush hatred has taken on a new, virulent mutation: animus towards First Lady Laura Bush. Witness today's New York Times column by Judith Warner, 24 as Reality Show [subscripton required].
Warner's jumping off point is Kiefer Sutherland's response to a question about the advent in this coming season's "24" of a woman president. Observed the actor who plays Jack Bauer: I can tell you one thing. We had the first African-American president on television, and now Barack Obama is a serious candidate. That wasnt going to happen eight years ago. Television is an incredibly powerful medium, and it can be the first step in showing people what is possible.
That prompted Warner to write:
I giggled a bit nastily over this at first. What was next claims that fingering China as a one-nation axis of evil on 24 had presaged the countrys exposure this spring as the source of all perishables tainted and fatal? That screen first lady Martha Logans descent into minimadness anticipated Laura Bushs increasingly beleaguered late-term demeanor? (Has anyone but me noticed her astounding resemblance to Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix?)"24" aficionados know that Logan is a former First Lady gone mad who is currently institutionalized at a mental health facility. According to Wikipedia, "a quick scale of squeaky notes would accompany the background soundtrack whenever her character appeared, known affectionately among fans as the "cuckoo music.'"
“I can tell you one thing. We had the first African-American president on television, and now Barack Obama is a serious candidate. That wasnt going to happen eight years ago. Television is an incredibly powerful medium, and it can be the first step in showing people what is possible.”
So something ostensibly provided as entertainment has a hidden motive of shaping the public perception to further a political agenda?
Ok, so who’s kid is Judith Warner?
Whenever you see somebody in a high profile position who is this rock-hard stupid, they inevitably are somebody’s kid.
Senator John Warner’s perhaps?
Even though I think a President should only serve two terms, it’s times like this when they are so filled with bile and venom that they have to attack sweet Laura Bush that I think how enjoyable it would be for W to win yet another election and put it in their faces. I think their little heads would explode from hatred.
Just another angry, bitter, fugly feminist that despises traditional women (like the first lady).
The dirty rat-finks. Has anyone posted the Daily Kos
picture that O’Reilly had and discussed about Joe
Liebermann??? We need to show this again and again,
it typifies the whole Democratic party and their perverted
supporters, especially the internet ones...the B......
need to be exposed again and again...JK
this ugly bee-itch has gone over the top...
consistent with the rest of the nyslimes!!!
Well, now, I think that the only response would be to announce that Laura Bush has decided to run for President in 2008...Wouldn’t THAT just send the democrats into an upheaval...No way would she ever do that of course, but it would be fun to see the fallout!
I thought Hollywood has repeatedly said TV didn't have any influence on people, ie violence, smoking. I stopped watching 24 last season and will not watch it this season, either.
I hope everyone — right now — send your thoughts to the New York Times — this woman is beyond contempt:

What a great idea! lol
Next week there will be a 5 part series on the mob connections of the Bush Scottie Dogs.
“Wha????? Anyone have a clue what she is talking about?”
Yeah, it means the delusional whore Warner has her head up her ass.
To continue reading this article, you must be a subscriber to TimesSelect.
Judith Warner's radioactive vitriol is contained behind a Chernobyl-like concrete tomb, TimesSelect. Few bother to venture into the tomb, and the unsuspecting general Internet public is safe from Judith and her Lefty pals.
On a personal note, Judy looks like the kind of gal who gives it away free to a constant stream of like-minded "free love" Lefties, Lefties whose only respite from the Horror of George W. and Laura Bush are the few stolen moments in each other's arms - every hour on the hour...
And their use of foul language.
Remember Geena Davis was the woman president on “Commander in Chief”? That show was supposed to make us think that Hillary should be president. Unfortunately that show went off the air after only 1 season of low ratings.
For some reason I picture her as more of a "bent over the hood" than an "in each others arms" girl.
Yeah, did I miss the part where Laura tries to murder George and nearly succeeds??? And takes up with a Secret Service agent?
