Because Paul doesn’t want to be the world’s sole superpower policeman?

Better to be the world’s policeman than not. Name me one country you’d like to have doing this besides the US and the REASONS why?

And if you think that policing the world by a bunch of groups of states works, may I point you to the member-appointed (unelected), mainly socialist/fascist/dictatorial-ridden system called the United Nations?

They’re pretty friggin effective, no?

Ain’t gonna happen. It was, after all, a conservative who said that politics is the art of the possible.

Who was it who said as soon as you think it's not possible, it isn't?

Other than the fact that is a complete friggin whack job, I see no reasons he couldn’t be POTUS.

Jimmy Carter was President, and he is a mentally-unbalanced coward like Ron Paul.

1) Because he can’t win the Republican Nomination.
2) See #1.

The author is John Derbyshire from NRO, Doug Mataconis is the blogger who “borrowed” the excerpt. ;)

Almost everybody’s got their favorite piece of the federal pork pie, and he’s going to piss off just about all of them over their piece.
