FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

Welcome back to the FReeper Canteen Hints & Tips.

Today, I'm here to discuss some really important tips. I’m sure you’ll want to share these tips with your family and friends.

*** Never stick your tongue on a frozen metal pole

*** Never hit yourself with a baseball bat

*** When someone yells DUCK, you’d better know what they mean

*** Don’t leave your cake where Connie’s dog can get to it.

Now, aren’t they the most useful hints you’ve had in ages? And, the best part about all these valuable tips is THEY'RE FREE!!!!

Final words of wisdom: *Cannot be used or combined with any other offers or promotions. No substitutions allowed. Not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages resulting from any defect, error or failure to perform. Do not bend, fold, mutilate, or spindle. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is unintentional and purely coincidental. Allow four to six weeks for delivery. Action figures sold separately. Void where prohibited.

OK...OK...

Back in my Navy days, we had 2 rules of electrical safety:

1. Never lick an energized bus.

2. Never lick a man licking and energized bus.

Always follow the rules!

WOOHOO!!!

In the woods, waiting for my turn at the PC, with a slow connection, and I still made the Top Ten!!

Okay, and now I'm off to the Ice Cream Social.
It was Order of the Arrow Day today, so we're celebrating the achievement of those who earned the Order of the Arrow.

Talk to you later.

Mary’s hints for unstopping a clog in the kitchen sink.

Boil water, slowly pour into sink. Stop pouring when the sink has an inch of water.

Wait an hour.

Try again since the water has gone down.

Grumble.

Pour 1/4 cup of baking soda into each sink, followed by 1/4 cup vinegar. Watch it foam.

Follow with boiling water. Stop pouring water when an inch of water is in the sinks.

Wait an hour until the water goes down.

Try again.

Grumble.

Decide to go to Lowe’s the next morning to get some chemical thingee.

Advise the rest of the family NOT to use the kitchen sinks. Grumble. Confess sin of bad attitude to the Lord.

Next day spend 30 minutes looking at various chemicals. Choose one.

Go home and begin pouring into sink. Stop when the chemical has reached one inch in the sink.

Wait for chemical to slowly seep through the clog.

Grumble.

Then follow with water, whatever temp it says on the container.

Advise family NOT to use kitchen sink.

Boil water and slowly pour into sink. Stop pouring when the level is just to the top of the drain pipe. Continue through the day trying to dissolve the clog in this fashion.

Wash family dishes in the laundry room sink.

Grumble.

Continue in this fashion trying one remedy or another for approximately 3 weeks.

Give up. Call Roto-rooter.

More Than We Imagine

READ: 1 John 2:28–3:3

We are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him. —1 John 3:2

For decades, astronomical artists have painted scenes of the universe based on a combination of scientific information and their own imaginations. But photographs from robotic space probes and the Hubble Space Telescope have redefined these artists’ view of reality. In a Los Angeles Times article, space artist Don Dixon said the first pictures of Jupiter’s moons Io and Europa “turned out to be much more exotic than anybody imagined.” Dixon now considers 70 percent of his space paintings to be “dated concepts” because reality has become more awesome than imagination.

While the Bible tells us what Jesus said and did, it doesn’t describe how He looked. Our mental picture of Him has likely been influenced by art and illustrations in Sunday school materials. But one day, our image of Christ will be forever changed when we meet Him face to face. “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2). That hope will produce in us a pursuit of purity (v.3).

Not only will we see our Lord as He is, but we will also be like Him. What an astonishing reality that will be more than we ever imagined!

When Christ returns, we’ll see His face
And be transformed by His good grace;
Hope will become reality—
Much more than we could ever see. —Sper

All that we long to become will find fulfillment in our first look at Jesus.
