I don't know what Jessica Alba's political stance on other issues are, but she's right on this one!

I lived in Germany for four years. Some people spoke English...but most expected you to speak German. And if you, or your children, attended school - you guessed it, you were expected to converse in German. No exceptions!

Wow, good for Ms. Alba! Clearly she is a true blue, American patriot.
It's probably because she comes from a military family, something extremely rare in modern Hollywood.

Good for Jessica.
I am not a Puerto Rican-American. I am Puerto Rican and that makes me an American.

On working in a mans world:
Im in a business thats completely driven by white males. The majority of writers and directors are men. And even though Im not, like, such a huge feminist, I do want to produce movies on my own that are female-driven and empowering to women. Variety is good. The womans voice really isnt present in Hollywood.

Although my last name is a Latin derivative I have traced my ancestry back to the 16th century to England and Scotland. I speak Spanish that I was forced to learn while living and working in South America and later in Mexico City. I was in their country and it was their language. I am a non-hyphenated American.
Point two. Do these people not understand that Latins are Caucasian? The brown skin comes from having ancestors that were Indian. It has nothing to do with the Latino bloodline. Mexico was populated by people from France, England Ireland and other European countries including Spain and Portugal. The other side of the family tree was courtesy of the indigenous population. And furthermore what difference does shades of brown or white make to a mans character?

Like Al Pacino, all of my grandparents were born in Italy. My mom grew up speaking Italian and English, my dad only spoke English. I once asked my mom why she never taught us to speak Italian. It was because my dad didn’t want her to. His opinion was that we lived in America, and did not need to know Italian. It’s funny that he wanted me to take Spanish in high school (grew up in San Antonio). I guess he had some foresight in the future. Maybe I should have learned more than “Where is the library?”!!
