TSA Officers Hassle Female Passenger over Sippy Cup?
Watch the actual surveillance from Reagan National Airport. Decide for yourself!
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
I read the other day about a passenger who seems to describe events --as Reagan National-- quite differently. Video "says" it all.
Who woulda thunk a sippy cup would cause such a stir.
Can’t tell much from that video and the text report published on FR indicated there was much more than what’s in the video.
Specifics?
I’m surprised it’s legal for the government to release videos like this on YouTube. Surreal.
I FORGET - DO THE AIRLINES PAY US TO GO THRU THIS TORTURE?
I watched the whole thing and it is obvious that what has been reported does not seem to match up. Granted, it is a lengthy video (’bout 10 min) and for those on dial-up, it is a tough slog. But well worth if this story has caught your attention. For those of us who have nothing better to do on a Fri nite ;)
I don’t even understand why she was stopped and what’s going on. About loses the little kid because of the security person.
The guy was another TSA security person. Two of them went through at the same time. The lady TSA agent was smiling afterwards, so I expect they knew each other well.
Some are quick to point fingers and jump on the bandwagon. Instead it seems like too many hinged on the pax's recollection. Ouch.
Their CYA policy got them to leak this to the internet.
Do they have a mythbusters for the photos of TSA people stealing items from luggage?
She was stopped because she had a bottle of water and a sippy cup with water in it. According to their incident report, she flashed her secret service credentials and tried to bypass security. They then directed her back out to dispose of the water. Notice how she stops as soon as she clears the last guard and does something. It must be then that she dumps the contents of the sippy cup on the ground. It certainly didn't look like she was trying to drink it. That is when the blue shirted guard gets up and starts fussing at her. Eventually she is made to clean up the mess she made. So you can see where she was when she spilled the water.
For those of us on dialup (I got disconnected during the download and would have to begin again, I only saw the first few minutes)...
What are we supposed to see on the video? That she was not detained 40 minutes or forced to clean the water? Does she intentially spill the contents of the sippy cup?
What is it that makes the TSA feel justified in detaining this woman? And then broadcasting the video in their defense?
I don’t see TSA making her do it. In fact the clip shows one of the TSOs helps clean up the spilled water.
Read the TSA report on mythbusters and look at the two videos.
1) The lady was a secret service (or former) employee. She tried to pull rank on the TSA employees.
2) The lady clearly dumped the contents of the sippy cup on the floor.
3) It was only after she did this that the blue shirted cop came up and talked to her.
So a lot of her complaint shown here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1850273/posts?page=278 appears to be bogus.
I give the TSA brownie points for handling her well.
YES. Go to the 1:00 minute mark. That is when the dirty deed is done.
