The FReeper Canteen Crew sadly announces the passing of Mr. Tonkin. (68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub).

If you would like to leave a message for his family, please direct them to amom.

Also, we ask that you send prayers to amom, his son Matthew, family, and friends.

We love you, Mr. Tonkin. Say 'hello' to Texas Cowboy for all of us.

You're missed and will never be forgotten.

 

We hope to make this an online memorial book for his family.

Details will be provided later regarding funeral services.

Thanks, tx, for the 23rd Psalm....as proud as Tonkin was of passing all the tests to stand a radio watch, his first "job" with the Coast Guard, he was more proud of passing all the tests to become a Commercial Fishing Vessel Examiner.

Tonk, when I catch up to you, I’m going to give you whatfor for not letting us share in your final battle.

After I give you a big hug, first, of course.

If electrons can find their way to Heaven, I hope you know how much you are admired and how dearly we will miss you.

You’re out of pain now friend, forever.

To Tonk’s family, my prayer for you is to find solace and relief from the pain of separation, through our Lord’s power. The pain is tangible and it is raw now, but you have memories to comfort you until a brighter day dawns.

Tonk is well loved here. I will miss his passion and his insight. I learned a lot from him.
