That is the headline on Drudge and all he has for now. Since Matt is undoubtedly in bed on the East Coast, we can probably thank Andrew Breitbart.
The immigration bill is on the brink of collapse in the Senate. Let's hope for some more developments soon.
My ears (eyes) just perked up. Tell me more. (tip-tapping my foot and fingernails)
Build the walls.
Put people on the border who can arrest, shoot and act where need be.
Fine the hell out of employers.
Refuse citizenship to any child born of illegals here.
Then give a temporary worker program where they go home or to jail.
Arrest them for driving illegally, driving without insurance and so on.
This is going to get rammed down our throat.
So far Sessions hasn’t pulled a “Kyl” on us. He’s a friend of Levin’s. Says a lot about his character I think. Too good for the Senate.
What I heard last night was that they were trying to ram it through with no or few amendments because they know NEXT YEAR IS AN ELECTION YEAR AND THEY WOULDN’T DARE TRY THIS CRAPOLA THEN!!!
We oughta be able to recall these sob’s whenever we feel like it, if a vote by the people or a court of competent jurisdiction finds malfeasance...
There is only one starting point - control the borders; then we can talk.
>> DRUDGE - REPORTS: IMMIGRATION BILL ON THE BRINK OF COLLAPSE IN SENATE... DEVELOPING...
Inside job - they’re afraid...
Your instincts are right. With GOP senators, stupidity and weakness are bottomless. The bill MAY be on the brink of collapse. But I wouldn’t bet on it. When Drudge has a “developing” story, it could simply mean that they’ve heard a rumor and are trying to chase it down. They run irresponsible headlines like with the huge caveat — “developing,” which really just means, “possibly” — so they can get credit for “reporting” the news first if it turns out to be true. Sort of like California weathermen who predict a “chance of rain.”
DRUDGE HAS A LINK THAT I CAN’T OPEN —
CITIZEN REVOLT AGAINST NEW AMNESTY PLAN
It's not dead yet. It'll probably never really die, we'll have to keep killing it, like the villain in a horror movie.
BTW, Jeff Sessions is heroism incarnate.
The lilly-livered Republicans in the Senate will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
i don’t know either...heard a few hours ago that McConnell and Sessions and DeMint maybe....wanted to keep debate opne and beat back Reid and this would de facto kill the bill.
a procedural thing above my pay grade...
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Sessions is a lousy speaker, and I’ve seen him perform very poorly in Supreme Court nomination hearings of the Judiciary Committee. It’s hard to avoid the impression — I’d love to be corrected on this — that the man just isn’t very bright. However, he is definitely a solid conservative, and has definitely been strong on this immigration bill. We owe Senator Sessions a debt of gratitude.
I guess the fine senators got sick of phone calls and letters from their constituents telling them that they and their party will never get a red cent donated ever again if they vote for this crap. Especially when their staffers told them that for every letter and phone call supporting it, there were 1000 telling them that it’s the biggest line of crap since global warming and 1-hour Martinizing.
I don’t see the link but its obvious to anyone that Citizens are on the brink of revolt...
We can only hope this bill dies....long enough so we can get a president in office that cares about our sovereignty and who would veto any such bill.
I do not believe it is killed yet unless something changed after todays Senate session which ended after midnight Eastern time. My understanding is they will vote on one more amendment tomorrow by Sen. Coburn, 2nd degree amendments until 10:00 a.m., followed by a cloture vote.
