Clinton: "Something Has to be Taken Away from Some People"

During a nationally broadcast forum Monday evening on faith and politics Sen. Hillary Clinton (D.-N.Y.) attacked the free market and told listeners in that order to attain energy independence and provide universal health coverage, it would be necessary to “take away from some people.”

“An uninsured person who goes to the hospital is more likely to die than an insured person,” Clinton said. “I mean, that is a fact. So what do we do? We have to build a political consensus. And that requires people to give up a little bit of their own turf in order to create this common ground.”

She went on, “The same with energy. You know, we can’t keep talking about our dependence on foreign oil and the need to deal with global warming and the challenge that it poses to our climate and to God’s creation and just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people.”

Clinton made these comments near the end of her allotted 15-minute portion of the event.

Clinton also said that “the adult society has failed” young people “who are tremendously influenced by the media culture and by the celebrity culture.”

“I think that we have failed them in our churches, our schools and our government,” she said. “And I certainly think the free market has failed. We’ve all failed.”

The New York senator said something similar to “taking things away from some people” at a June 2004 private fundraising event in San Francisco. There, Associated Press reporter Beth Fouhy wrote that Clinton told attendees Democrats should take money back from taxpayers who benefited from President Bush’s tax cuts.

Clinton told her donors, “We're not coming to you, many of whom are well enough off that actually the tax cuts may have helped you, and say 'we're going to give you more.' We're saying, 'you know what, for America to get back on track and be fiscally responsible, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you.”

She added, “We’re going to take things away form you on behalf of the common good.”

On the campaign trail, each of the three leading Democrats running for their party’s nomination for President, Clinton, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards and Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.), have said he or she would repeal the Bush tax cuts to help finance universal health care.

The June 4 event was hosted by Sojourners, a social justice movement for progressive Christians. Founder Jim Wallis is the author of “God’s Politics: Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn’t Get It.”

CNN’s Soledad O’Brien moderated the forum. It aired on that station Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Edwards and Obama also participated.

‘She should start with her husband who has reportedly made $43 million in speakers fees over the past three years. What is just? Say, a “gift” of $30 or $40 million out of this to the deserving?’

Yep, or just donate the Impeached One’s millions in consulting fees from infoUSA.

They only like communism as long as they don’t have to live under it.

The ‘common good’ does not necessarily mean, ‘to each according to their needs.’

It will mean what SHE says it means.

"If you really believe Mitt Romney, Duncan Hunter, John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Tommy Thompson, Jim Gilmore, Rudy Giuliani are going to cut any major departments or programs that take from some of us to give to others, I have a bridge to sell you. Even Ron Paul has been known to “bring home the bacon,” apparently."

Not cutting existing programs isn't exactly what Hillary is talking about in that article. She's talking about the redistribution of wealth by taking more from the productive to give to the unproductive to reach total social equality.

I don't think you can even begin to compare that to the idea that a Republican my not cut some social programs.

Yep, Mrs. Bill Clinton is right. Some things should be taken away from some people.

Let’s start with her and her husband. Let’s throw them in jail. In other words, let’s take their freedom from them.

I guess that we need to make sure that the insured die at the same rate. I know that’s what will happen if Dims get there way whether they intend it or not.

Edwards and Obama are forcing her to give us at least a one-liner a week that can be used against her in the general election.

Great point. she risks becoming irrelevant if she doesn't say something noteworthy (and stupid). I guess she had to one-up Obama Hussein when he said there might be a "quiet riot" by blacks. This is going to be interesting even if I do pull out all the hair on my head.

She had pale eyes that looked fishy, cold and dead. And if you ever want to see pure evil, you should have seen the way her eyes glinted when she watched some man who’d talked back to her once and who’d just heard his name on the list of those getting nothing above basic pittance. And when you saw it, you saw the real motive of any person who’s ever preached the slogan: ‘From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.’

Could anything describe Hillary any more accurately?

“We’re going to take things away form you on behalf of the common good.”

Imagine hearing her say that in THIS VOICE! She has added new meaning to "broken glass Republicans!"

In fact, I think I could become one........LOL!

There is NO WAY we can ever let her become President.......

THAT is why it's critical that the GOP nominate a TRUE conservative!

Who could ever forget Hitlery’s socialistic comments back in June 2004:

San Francisco rolls out the red carpet for the Clintons
- BETH FOUHY, AP Political Writer
Monday, June 28, 2004

(06-28) 19:03 PDT SAN FRANCISCO (AP) —

The leftiest big city on the Left Coast was Clinton country on Monday, with former President Clinton continuing his blockbuster book tour and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton headlining a Democratic fund-raiser where she vowed to defeat the Republicans’ “extraordinarily ruthless machine.”

Headlining an appearance with other Democratic women senators on behalf of Sen. Barbara Boxer, who is up for re-election this year, Hillary Clinton told several hundred supporters — some of whom had ponied up as much as $10,000 to attend — to expect to lose some of the tax cuts passed by President Bush if Democrats win the White House and control of Congress.

“Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you,” Sen. Clinton said. “We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we’re probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”

Now before everybody's head explodes, -snip- It's just that Hillary is being so blatant about it.

Well, my head is exploding, just a little. She's more blatant because she's more socialist and eager to make us her loyal comrades, ready to obey. Gag.

she said. “And I certainly think the free market has failed.

There we have it. Conservatives and other non-lefties everywhere should be broadcasting this as their sound-byte of life under Hil. Our system, our democracy, based on the free market, or free market principles, and she wants us all to acknowledge it failed, preceded by her comments on how church and government and schools have all failed our youth. She's going b@!!s out on this one (as only 'she' can), on this push for socialism, and appealing to our heartstrings. All I can think of is Lenin urging his youthful socialist-indoctrinated university students to rally for communism, for marxism to save their society.

And I'm sadly thinking of the leftie students of voting age here who are nodding their heads in agreement with her ideas...

All it takes is 50.01% of the voting population that believes this is the right course to put her into office.

Actually only 270 electoral votes. Majority not always needed.
