He is listening to the media hype on the bash Bush thing and believes that all Republicans are deserting him and he is just exploiting this in the usual Newt fashion.

Greetings! Now more than ever, it's time to act like Citizens and not just talk and post...
Don't let up on Congressmen and Senators, one bit.
But, aim additional political fire at GOP and Democrat party officials, at every level.
Precinct chairmen, County Chairmen, State Central Committee members, State Chairmen and Co-Chairmen, your state's Republican National Committee members, the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and the National Republican Congressional Committee. Repeat with the Democrats as needed.
A simple google search will give you the email addresses, fax numbers, and telephone numbers of all of these movers and shakers.
You may not have access to our elected officials, but they do.

Newt still thinks he will announce after September.
At most, Newt would be a spoiler. He couldn’t win if he were the only one running, because of his baggage. And if he is that clueless, he is definitely not what the GOP needs at this time.

One last comment on Newt....he went off on Katrina and blamed the feds. With all due respect to Newt, he should put the blame where it belongs....on the democrat leadership(?) in LA, not on the Feds. It further tells me he will run as an anti-bush rather than pro-america. Shame on Newt.

The GOP leadership/elite has lost touch with everything/everyone expect their globalist agenda.] Or perhaps the bubble world reality folks around here confuse their personal political opinions for the "will of the people". Kind of interesting that all the candidates who are most in line with the hard core Freepers political dogmas cannot even get over 5% in the preference polls. So who are the Hard Core "Conservatives" going to blame if their pet candidates get rejected in the primaries? Doubtlessly they will rationalize it as the fault of the GOP Establishment. Their dogmas are going to run into the hard cold political reality that elections are won by coalitions of interests, not by the candidate who claim to be the most doctrinally pure.

It is Bushs fault the border guy let in the TB guy....that is what Newt said. He wasn't blaming Bush per se. He used it as an example of how the proposed comprehensive immigration bill will be difficult to enforce. The "TB guy's"" name was in the computer yet the folks reponsible for monitoring did not pick it up. Much of comprehensive immigration reform depends on bureaucrats to implement and enforce it.
Isn't Bush responsible for securing our border, especially after 9/11? Why has only 11 miles of single fence been built since the passage of the Secure FenceAct in October 2006, a bill that authorized the construction of 854 miles of double fencing? Where does the buck stop? Whom do we hold accountable for the fact that 500,000 to 1 million people are entering our country illegally each year?

Thanks for the post!!!! Hously b*tchslapped the guy pretty hard. Good for him.
IMHO, the reason Foxnews puts these idiots on, is to expose how dangerous the left is. (which we already know) And, because Foxnews has by far the largest audience in cable news, it reaches out to the moderate crowd and let’s them know what idiots are being elected in the large cities of this country.
To: rodguy911
I hate to say it but if the country gets any headway at all on the illegals it will be done one small town at a time by locals not the feds. They are just not up to it. Exactly!
Also .. IMO the feds should cut off freebie funding to all those sanctuary states/cities/towns
If the want to keep and protect illegals .. then let them pay for it

Unfortunately, if this bill passes, all of the illegals will be granted legal status undermining the efforts of the states. And the states are bearing the biggest burden of this influx.

The TB guys name was in the database to STOP and HOLD. The border guard ignored the warning....but the WARNING was there. That is an improvement in border security from what we had in the past. So, Newt was blaming Bush for the border guard ignorning the warnings...at least that is how I interpreted his comment.

Carville is saying the Republican party is racist and sexist. His wife is sitting next to him and did not coldcock him. I think Mary Matalin is working for Fred Thompson.

Newt is shooting himself in the foot, imho. He is eliminating himself as a Presidential candidate before he even announces his plans. No great loss. He has no chance of ever getting the GOP nomination let alone winning the presidentcy. Newt, like many of the other GOP candidates, has way too much baggage to ever get elected.
