I admire your loyalty..

but make no mistake- the man who has been brave enough to stand up to the terrorists, and stay strong on Iraq with no timeline- is the same man dealing with this issue.

He does not make decisions based on fear of investigations......

He wants open borders for commerce and labor.

Just take a look at the European Union. A good look.

The people who want it are politicians and big business..those against it, are the common people.

While I admire some things about President Bush, I don’t give or take my support based on being a fan or liking someone. I do it based on the issue. While I am constantly accused of being emotional (LOL!) it is actually the opposite.

I don’t hate Bush, I am issue based, not fan-based.

I didn’t want to believe that President Bush was really wanting a North American Union either.

It took months of reading, research, meetings, converstaions with people high up, etc.....and I finally just couldn’t deny it or defend it any more.

All the reactions I am getting from y’all are reactions that I, myself, had at one time also.....

I understand, and am very patient. All I really seek is the truth and to share it.. but I am willing to stick it out, and take the lumps if I have to. I believe that in the long run- the intelligence of FREEPers will win out. They will seek the truth and facts.

I am not trying to sound condescenging, I am trying to convey to you that I understand how you feel and what you think— because I have been there....

even long after I knew the truth, I had a hard time talking about it.... mostly because of our troops in harms way...

But our sovereignty is at grave stake here.

It may sound harsh- but I can swallow deaths of Americans easier than I can swallow the death of America.

Last week's unemployment number came in at 4.5. Anything under 5 is considered full employment. 5% of the work force are the marginal or unemployable. The sick, the handicap, the substance abusers etc. SO, if we have 20 million illegals here and we assume that 10 million have jobs, the question remains "who is going to do all those jobs" Certainly not American Citizens since they all ready HAVE jobs. They are certain NOT going to take jobs that are "at, near or below minumum wage with no benefits".

First, how much are these 10 million costing us in terms of social services, schools, medical services, law enforcement, etc? Second, does the world's largest economy depend on cheap exploitable labor that is akin to slavery? I bet the same arguments were made prior to the civil war about the necessity to have slaves to support the economy. If they become legal, they lose their attractiveness to employers. Finally, what happens when the unemployment rate goes to 6% or higher as it surely will? A 4.5% unemployment rate is not a given, economic cycles are. Who will be the people losing their jobs? If illegals, will they go home?

Its the long term future that worries me when we do not have the engineering and manufacturing skills anymore. We will have to import them from China and the like. People are not studying these skills at university any more because the jobs are not there for them.

One day we will need them and they will have gone.

Okay here's why we should have the government pay for groceries:

In order to have people able to build post offices, post roads and to write letters to one another so as to use the post roads and post offices, and in order to have people capable of running the offices and delivering via the roads, those people need to eat.
Therefore and obviously following: The Federal Government is empowered and authorized to provide food stuff, food preparation, food delivery and food trash hauling, along with suitable sets of of china, dining room furniture and silverware -- not to mention food serving staff to all citizens capable of either writing letters, receieving them (letters made be read to the illiterate by government supplied readers), or handling them; and to provide semi-colons and other punctuation accessories; and generally to provide supplies of groceries of good quality to all.

Poverty, Welfare, and the Uninsured

Poverty Among Immigrants and Natives. The first two columns in Table 10 report the poverty rate for immigrants by country and the number (in thousands) in poverty. Based on the March 2005 CPS, 17.1 percent of immigrants compared to 12 percent of natives lived in poverty in 2004 (Poverty statistics are based on annual income in the calendar year prior to the survey and reflect family size). The data by country indicate that there is an enormous variation in poverty rates among immigrants from different countries. For example, the 26 percent poverty rate for Mexicans is more than five times that of persons from Canada or the Philippines.

The higher incidence of poverty among immigrants as a group has significantly increased the overall size of the population living in poverty. Immigrants accounted for about one in six persons living in poverty. While this is a large percentage, it would be even larger if the native‑born children (under age 18) of immigrants, who are included in the poverty figures for natives, are counted with their parents. The poverty rate of minor children reflects their parents' income, therefore it is reasonable to view poverty among the U.S.‑born children of immigrants as attributable to their immigrant parents.28 The bottom portion of Table 10 shows that the poverty rate for immigrants and the U.S.‑born children of immigrant mothers together is 18.4 percent. If the native‑born children of immigrants are excluded, poverty among natives drops from 12 percent to 11.7 percent.

Of the 31 million natives living in poverty, 2.5 million (8 percent) are the U.S.‑born children (under 18) of immigrant mothers. Overall, if the six million immigrants in poverty are also excluded, along with their U.S.‑born children, the total number of people living in poverty drops by 8.5 million. This means that immigrants and their U.S.‑born children account for 23 percent of the nearly 37 million people living in poverty in the United States. Among persons under age 18 living in poverty, 27 percent are either immigrants or the child of an immigrant mother.

Without Health Insurance.

Table 11 reports the percentage of immigrants and natives who were uninsured for all of 2004. (The CPS asks about health insurance in the calendar year prior to the survey) The table shows that lack of health insurance is a significant problem for immigrants from many different countries. Overall, 33.7 percent of the foreign-born lack insurance compared to 13.3 percent of natives. Immigrants now account for 26 percent of the uninsured. The lower portion of Table 11 reports the percentage and number of immigrants and the U.S.‑born children (under 18) of immigrant mothers who are uninsured. Of the 46.5 million immigrants and their young children, 29.3 percent lack insurance. In total, the 13.6 million uninsured immigrants and their children account for 30 percent of the uninsured, nearly double their 15.9 percent of the overall population.

The low rate of insurance coverage associated with immigrants is primarily explained by their much lower levels of education. Because of the limited value of their labor in an economy that increasingly demands educated workers, many immigrants hold jobs that do not offer health insurance, and their low incomes make it very difficult for them to purchase insurance on their own. A larger uninsured population cannot help but strain the resources of those who provide services to the uninsured already here. Moreover, Americans with insurance have to pay higher premiums as health care providers pass along some of the costs of treating the uninsured to paying costumers. Taxpayers also are affected as federal, state, and local governments struggle to provide care to the growing ranks of the uninsured. There can be no doubt that by dramatically increasing the size of the uninsured population, our immigration policy has wide‑ranging effects on the nation's entire health care system.

A recent study found that, after controlling for such factors as education, age, and race, uninsured immigrants impose somewhat lower costs than uninsured natives. However, when the authors simply compared uninsured immigrants to uninsured natives the cost differences were not statistically significant. In other words when using the actual traits that immigrants have, the costs that uninsured immigrants create were the same as uninsured natives.31 Of course, even if there was a difference in the costs uninsured immigrants create compared to uninsured natives, it would have to be enormous to offset the fact that immigrants are two-and one-half times more likely to be uninsured than native-born Americans.

I thoroughly agree with you regarding the situation I have seen it to a lesser extent in London but what will become of them if the jobs disappear will they I doubt it.

He is no less one sided than Dead Air America. Until he gets to the root of the problem there is no solution and he doesn’t want one. It is too easy a issue.

Thompson said possible bipartisan consensus on the immigration bill represents a “disconnect between the people of this country and Congress like I’ve never seen before.”

Thompson was the headliner at the Republican Party of Virginia’s 2007 Commonwealth Gala, which Chairman Ed Gillespie predicted would raise about $110,000.

Of course they are good workers! I talk with them everyday.

I was just a rally on Thursday outside Saxby’s office, and a guy who was AT THE RALLY- holding up signs, etc...admitted that his son hires illegals...he said “He doesn’t want to, but he has to in order to compete.”

I also realize that too many American’s in my very own generation are lazy- show up late, hungover, etc....

I have also scrubbed toilets and mowed lawns while supporting my 3 children (with ZERO child support from my ex husband) and going to school. I had a 4.0 GPA- was on the Presidents list and was Student of the Year.

But let me tell you— I cleaned 3 br homes for $50 bucks and mowed their lawns for $35 bucks— because I had to do it cheaper than the illegals.

Keep in mind- I was not a teenager wanting movie money— I was raising 3 kids with NO HELP!

And I talked about THAT on the air yesterday TOO!

so — keep going. Why not just share your thoughts and stop attacking me.
