A new study has found that many more women are leaving economically moribund Eastern Germany. The result is a new, frustrated and largely male underclass. And many of them find succor in the neo-Nazi scene.
The problem has been well known for years: Ever since the mid-1990s, young Eastern Germans have been fleeing the region due to a lack of economic opportunity, hoping to find jobs in the western part of the country. Some 1.5 million have already left the region -- roughly 10 percent of the population of East Germany when the Berlin Wall fell. Even worse, most of those who leave are under 35 and many of them have above average education or training.
But according to a new study released by the Berlin Institute for Population and Development, there is another problem that accompanies the migration. Since 1991, more than two-thirds of all those who have left Eastern Germany have been women. The result is that in many towns in the region, there are simply not enough to go around -- some places are missing up to 25 percent of their young women. Even worse, the young men who stay behind are often poorly educated, unemployed and frustrated -- perfect fodder for neo-Nazi groups looking for members.
Miss Eastern Germany, Svetlana Tsys, won the Miss Germany contest earlier this year. Eastern Germany is suffering from a lack of young women.

If depends on whether you want to talk about the period during which the Nazis were struggling to gain power, or the period after they got it.
The SA was extremely important during the pre-1933 period. It is no stretch to say that the Nazis would never have gained power without Roehm or somebody very like him. It is a fact that Roehm and other homosexuals dominated the SA totally. They also leaned more in the Socialist rather than the Nationalist direction.
In June, 1934 Hitler destroyed the SA leadership, to some extent using their homosexual practices as an excuse. Thereafter the Nazis persecuted homosexuals, although a good many homosexuals remained prominent in the system throughout. The Nazis never suffered from a compulsion to be overly consistent or logical. :)

Interestingly enough, the Poles who come to the US adapt quickly to the "culture of opportunity" (versus the culture of entitlement) very quickly. I just wish they would stop wearing cheesy track suits and gold chains, and blasting techno music out of their Escalades in Greenpoint/Ridgewood. ;-)

Well - even America has its problems with dumb propaganda that is distorting the truth. I understand that it is easy to ridicule nazis as homosexuals and that some people might have interest in doing so. But it is simply not true.
As a German who was born into a family with some interesting connections in our society I had the “privilege” (sarcasm) to meet many men who acted in decisive position in the nazi regime. I.e. my mother was the secretary of Baldur v. Schirach’s son when she was a young woman. Von Schirach was “Reichsjugendfuehrer” (leader of the Hitler youth) and jailed after Nuernberg in Berlin Spandau. Although I hate those guys from the bottom of my heart (most of them are dust in the meantime), I have to say that I never ever met a homosexual among them.
Umm...last I checked there was no ‘East Germany’ anymore...

Sure there is - the cultural divide still exists long after the wall fell.
Seems to explain our home grown nazis over in the democrat party to a tee.
If all this is true, relocate those hard working muslims to the east, and it will become an economic and orderly powerhouse in less than a decade.
And if the Nazi’s decide to get too violent, they’ll get their heads lopped off with dull knives.
