Mironov Tells Kyoto Experts The World Is Getting Cooler
By Simon Shuster
Staff WriterSergei Mironov
ST. PETERSBURG -- It was a failure from the start. Russia's biggest conference on the Kyoto Protocol, which aims to fight global warming, began with a speech from a top official who denied that global warming even exists.
"In reality, the scientific basis for the protocol is fairly weak," Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov told a crowded opening session of the two-day conference Thursday, which drew more than 200 environmental experts and carbon market participants from around the world. "In the opinion of many experts, the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere does not have any effect on the climate."
On this point, Mironov stands on the fringes of global scientific opinion. A growing consensus has formed among top scientists and politicians, who have been warning governments to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases being spewed into the atmosphere. The Kyoto Protocol, first signed in 1997, created a system of financial incentives for doing this.

I think their sense of denial is too great. I expect the algores to claim credit for any climate change here on out.
This global warming fraud reminds me of the "social security trust fund". For those who may not know there is actually a bank in Ohio that supposedly houses the "trust fund". There is nothing in it but sheets of paper with IOU written all over them. Yet the politicians have pretended the trust fund exists for decades, and continue to do so today.
How do we know they are lying?--Their lips are moving.

Where can I download a carbon credit. I intend to print a truckload of counter fit credits, and need a copy to work from. This should make me as rich as Algore.

From the article
...Each carbon credit represents a 1-ton cut in carbon dioxide emissions.
Then the next paragraph
Once certified, these credits can be sold for $5 to $15 each on the global carbon market, and the buyer can use them as a permit to emit 1 ton of carbon dioxide elsewhere in the world. The most likely buyers are from European Union countries, where polluters must pay fines if they do not have enough carbon allowances.
They can say that with a straight face.
Where is the cut in carbon emissions??
They are just moving the emissions around, and making money doing it.

"I really think this BS bubble is finally going to burst.. This insanity has gone on far too long.">/i> The climate fearmongers switched from global cooling to global warming in a heart beat. They can switch back just as quickly. Global cooling will create more fear than global warming, anyway. It has always been a stretch to fear tropical climates in Iceland. Give it one more year of less than peak temperatures, and we will hear global cooling fears, with the same causes as global warming. You only have to tweak the models slightly to predict cooling.

Projects... can all be financed, along with many others, simply by selling the carbon credits they produce, said Jan-Willem van de Ven, head of the carbon credit fund at the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development. I would expect a little bit better economic thinking from a fat European Bank mandarine. Financing projects which will create no wealth with phoney funds created by selling nothing means to sew Emperor's non-existence garment... and insanely to pump inflation.

That’s why “they” are slowly changing the word “global warming” to “climate change”. That way, the environmental nutcases can be sure to cover their butts no matter which way the temp. goes.

Don't get excited, though. If Mironov--or anybody else--should come up with undisputable proof, the Left will merely take up Global Cooling as a cause célèbre, and their Ministry of Propaganda (aka the "Mainstream Newsmedia") will make it all seem logical--and that they had meant to say "Global Cooling" instead of "Global Warming" all along; I mean...after all...anybody can have a slip of the tongue, f'cryin' out loud. Never underestimate the strategic--or moral-prestidigitationability of the Left!

After man-made global warming nonsense is gone, the next shoe to drop will be on the heads of the darwin crowd, who believe that all this (the earth, life, mankind) is just a big freakish mistake or random mutation (or they also say smart beings might be living on a moon of Jupiter). I love it!

The Climate Change movement isnt insanity. Its a carefully calculated effort to undermine market forces. Global warming, global cooling, makes no difference. The bottom line is, capitalism is bad for the weather. Climate Change/Carbon Offsets is pure Capitalism. They have created a Need based product to sell to the world market. Once they pull off changing the laws to require this product be sold to everyone eventually, they will have more money than any single nation. The only thing standing in their way is their own greed once the money starts pouring in.

My wife and I have been recycling and planting trees for years. We still do--fruit trees, native trees, et al. I love trees. Our Christmas trees are alive; we replant them after Christmas. We're also vegetarians, live in the middle of the wilderness, and don't allow hunting on our property.
I fought for five years, trying to protect an enormous, gorgeous, dense, old-growth forest from the enviro-fascists who slapped me with one mindless regulation--and expense--after another. I made it clear that I wanted to preserve it in its pristine beauty and to protect all the wild animals who lived there. I also told them that if they didn't cooperate with me and stop harassing me, I would have to sell the property, and the buyer would likely destroy the forest for urban development. They didn't care.
Sure enough, they kept it up. A developer offered to buy it at a huge profit to me. The forest is now a desert. The animal habitats have been destroyed. My wife and I were heartbroken. I almost cried.
The enviro-bullies apparantly were pleased. They showed who's boss.
Was I surprised? No. I've understood what Leftists are for years.

1) better to be on the fringe and correct tan to be center of mass and wrong.
2) Consensus my butt. In fact, the pendulum seems to be swinging in the opposite direction as of late.
