Dodd: U.S. Can't Wait on Bush to End War
Breitbart.com ^ | May 26 03:09 PM US/Eastern | PHILIP ELLIOTT Associated Press Writer

BARRINGTON, N.H. (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Chris Dodd said Saturday the United States cannot afford to wait for President Bush's successor to end the war in Iraq.

"We really can't wait another 18 months," the U.S. senator from Connecticut said while campaigning. "We have to have the convictions to stand up to this president."

Dodd said the war has been waged "for all the wrong reasons" and that it is eroding both the nation's security and its moral leadership.

For those reasons, he said, it was not difficult for him to vote in the Senate against continued funding for the Iraq war. "That wasn't a courageous vote. It was the right vote to cast," Dodd said. "I don't know how you justify the status quo."

Dodd, a vocal critic of the war in Iraq, said he won't stop suggesting ways to end the war. He was the only 2008 presidential candidate to co-sponsor the Democrats' most aggressive anti-war bill.

"We're going to go back at it again. What bothers me is that we're not stepping up and doing what's right," he said. "Even the Republican leadership is now setting benchmarks, putting some parameters on the White House."

Despite his opposition to the conflict, Dodd said the military members serving there deserve his support.

"Regardless of our views on Iraq, but these are remarkable men and women serving in Iraq," Dodd said on his Memorial Day visit to the first-in-the-nation primary state.

Dodd, despite more than 25 years in the Senate, trails in state and national polls and acknowledges he isn't keeping pace with rival campaigns' fundraising strength.

"We're doing pretty well, but not at the levels of others," Dodd said.

He said as more voters hear his opposition to the war, they'll become supporters.

"I realized I'm not as well financed as others. I realize I'm not as well known as others," Dodd said. "But I can win the election in 2008 if I win this nomination."

But they aren't going to get it as long as George W. Bush is in the White House.

I just find the hypocrisy enlightening. Most of the things Dodd complains about what is wrong with USA foreign policy in Iraq can be applied to Sudan.

Democrats can’t wait to quit.

Heck no, they can't wait...if we're still in Iraq in January 2009 and they've won the Presidential election, then pulling out means that the Democrat loses the war. They want to bluff the Republicans into agreeing to lose the war before then, so that they can spend the next 50 years telling the gullible American public that the Republicans are weak on defense...because they lost the Iraq war. No one will remember in a few years HOW it was lost and who forced the issue...they'll only remember who was in office when it was lost.

This is about nothing other than taking the "strong on defense" electoral presumption from the Repbulicans. That's all the Democrats ever care about...the next election and the one after that and so on.

Numbskulls like Dodd need to be reminded that the war in Iraq is not against a nation but fighting homicidal terrorist maniacs. Do it there or over here. Remember 9/11?

His stance is exactly in line with the desires of our enemy. And still, we have a hard time working up the juice to say the word TRAITOR.

Dodd wants us to end what he calls "somebody else's civil war"?????

These Senators want surrender to Al-Qaida but don't have the guts to admit it.

I wonder what is happening in 18 months?

My take is that we will have drawn down a big chunk of our troops by then because the surge has been successful and the Iraqi's have finally built up their troops to an appropriate level.

The Dems are using insider information to forumulate their political strategy and being on the "cutting edge" of what would have happened without their bitching and complaining.

I’m surprised that Senator Dodd stopped playing playboy long enough to have a serious though about anything.

It might come as a shock to Dodd, but Bush is not the only one to have a say in when the war ends The enemy also has input, just as he started the war.

The French found a “Dodd” way to end wars, surrender. Even that is not an option in the terrorist war. The terrorists will stop fighting only when the last non-believer is converted, dominated or dead.

Senator Dodd is one of Kennedy’s boys and keeps his place only because he pals around with Teddy. Dodd is an example of what you get when an incompetent person is put in a responsible job.

.

During the Vietnam War BILL CLINTON went to the Communist Soviet Union for 40 days to collect Communist funding for the 3 Anti-U.S. Demonstrations he was organizing for outside our American Embassy in London, England. This when American Blood was flowing against Communism in Vietnam from bullets supplied by the Communist Soviet Union.

When President RONALD REAGAN was declaring that only Victory would suffice against Communism during the Cold War, while working hard to make it so, Sen. TED KENNEDY sent his envoy JOHN TUNNEY to the Communist Soviet Union to plan REAGAN’s defeat.

During the Vietnam War HILLARY RODHAM did all she could to support Communist North Vietnam’s push to take over then Free South Vietnam. Which succeeded after Sen. TED KENNEDY led a post-WATERGATE Democrat Congress’ cut-off of U.S. funding for the then Free South to fight for its own Freedom.

This when the Communist Soviet Union had given $6 Billion in direct Military Aid to the Communist North for its ‘Final Solution’ in the South. Translating into over 600 Soviet tanks and 1,000’s pieces of mobile artillery coming down the HO CHI MINH Trail and taking over a Free Saigon in just 55 Days.
(600 tanks was more tanks then Gen. GEORGE PATTON needed to win World War II with in Europe)

You got that right. Buy a shotgun and case of ammo.

The Chinese will pull the trigger, calling for payment on our debt. This will cause hyper inflation and collapse of the dollar.

The Welfare and SS system will end, and the “takers” will be rioting in the streets, demanding their Gubmint checks.

Get the gun, get the ammo, now.

Amen.

Only fools, intellectual inbreeds and enemy sympathizing morons think that we’re up against anything that came up just because of the Iraq front on the GWoT or because of POTUS Bush.

This enemy has been growing among us like a contagious disease for decades. It is the only enemy to ever force the US into defeat and the blood of millions are on their heads.

This enemy is even more dangerous than the Jihadis with which they’ve become allied.

Tis is what happens when a POTUS allows his domestic enemies to run amok unmolested.

You end up killing a lot of soldiers and losing a war.

W does the soldiers no favor by failing to fight the war on the homefront against the socialist crook sex pervert baby killer democrats.

Sen. TED KENNEDY has always known better.

At the beginning of the Fight for Freedom in South Vietnam in October 1965, he and then Rep. JOHN TUNNEY toured our Military Operations all over a then Free South Vietnam to see for themselves precisely what that country’s Fight for Freedom against invading Communism was really all about.

In other words, they BOTH have known better all along then to ally themselves with Freedom’s threatening enemies. For those enemies really, really are out there. And these two saw that this was so up close and personal way back in 1965.

Having gleefully shaken hands with 1960 Presidential Candidate Sen. JOHN KENNEY on the day he accepted his Democrat Party’s Nomination for President in Los Angeles, I was excited to meet Sen. TED KENNEDY in Vietnam, nearly 2 years after his brother’s Assasination.

.......Not anymore.

Fascinating Analysis of Leftist Goals, August 13, 2006

Reviewer: N. Sincerity - See all my reviews

A former 1960s radical, Horowitz is well-acquainted with the Leftist mindset. In this book, he strives to explain the modern alliance between left wing progressivists and radical Islamofascists. He argues that this alliance is based on a common desire to destroy Western capitalism. Leftist sympathy with Islamofascist ideas makes no sense from an intellectual point of view, given that countries ruled by radical Islamists are among the most racist, sexist, theocratic states in the world today. However, Leftists have recognized that they can benefit politically from destructive terrorist attacks on the Western world. A West under attack can be made to turn on its leaders in fear and desperation (as they did in Spain after the Madrid train bombings). Only once people reject current government structures can the Left execute its anti-capitalist revolution and build a new reality that mirrors the Leftist view of utopia.

The complete and utter idealogical hypocrisy of the Islamofascist-Leftist alliance is distressing, but as Horowitz reminds us,

Leftists radicals truly believe the ends justify the means.

From DC to DAVOS
Folks all know that DASOS*

Democrats, under Truman, abandoned South Korea 4 years after it was freed, too.

One year later, in 1950, the North Korean army of Kim il-Sung invaded and occupied most of South Korea.

Truman sent troops back to South Korea to re-win its freedom. In the following 30 months, 30,000 Americans died in Korea.

"Most everyone agrees that had the U.S. troops remained, there would have been no war." (Source:A BRIEF ACCOUNT OF THE KOREAN WAR By Jack D. Walker)
