This can’t be true.

Lindsey Graham is representing John McCain on this, since Johnny Mc is too busy running for the Presidency and wants to distance himself.

Last evening the in the debate, John McCain said that he “has never supported amnesty.”

So this can’t be correct. Johnny wouldn’t lie [would he?].

Apparently the republicans want a repeat of what they saw in the last election.

It is unfortunate (for them and for the country) that they continue to ignore the part of the country that is between the East and West coasts.

Illegal immigration was a huge reason we lost. They can blame it on the war, on Bush, on whatever they want, but illegal immigration is a HUGE part of it.

How many ways can we say it? Apparently there is no way that our elected reps are going to hear us, regarding this issue, as they continue barreling ahead to throw themselves over the cliff.

Bush has a Congress he can work with.

Maybe the House will stop this albatross again.

Bush, Kennedy Join Forces Over Immigration

As he presses for legacy-building immigration legislation, President Bush finds himself aligned with the same unlikely ally who helped enact his first major domestic initiative. That would be Sen. Edward Kennedy, the Massachusetts Democrat who played a crucial role in crafting and passing the No Child Left Behind Act, the president's massive effort to overhaul education policy. In a speech to the Associated General Contractors of America on May 2, Bush acknowledged Kennedy as a key player in the talks that are culminating this week, when the Senate opens an immigration debate. "I appreciate the leadership he's taken," Bush said....

The best part of this new legislation is that illegals here that don’t qualify for some form of legalization won’t be at any greater risk of being rounded up and being deported than before the new legislation.

This means that the only thing that will change is that millions will get amnesty, but nobody will be booted out.

What a great country!

A guy I know would love to immigrate to the US to escape the communist/socialist hellhole of Sweden, and had numerous chances to overstay his tourist visa while visiting relatives in New York, but no, he obeyed the law, and is now stuck trying to apply for a green card behind tens of thousands of other people from around the world, or hope for a lucky draw in the 2008 Diversity Visa lottery.

It sucks.

"The deal would give illegal aliens living in the United States amnesty, according to confidential sources. It would also allow illegal aliens to bring their parents, spouses and children into the United States."

I'll betcha they all have at least a dozen children, wink, wink..

This is going to bankrupt our country, and we'll still need migrant workers.

My God, even Jack Cafferty of CNN just spoke out against this pro amnesty agenda.

I hate that I have to agree with Cafferty and not Bush.

Beam me up..

“These visas would be given to people not currently in the United States if they are related to a current illegal worker. “

And how closely related do they have to be? 25th cousin by their mother’s great aunt?

Can we just go back to the way it was before immigration activists brought this to the front burner?
