But his indecision may be born of lack of ambition early enough to make a credible run.

I think you're way off base. There was a thread here recently about how, traditionally, interested parties don't declare their candidacy officially until the SUMMER of the year preceding the election.

Things have gotten goofy this time around with all these candidates declared this far out from the election. I'll see if I can find the thread and ping you. It's very interesting. Fred is apparently playing it REAL smart. "Indecision" has nothing to do with it.

Doesn’t the Constitution say there shall be no religious test for office?

Yes, and there isn't one. However, the voters have the right to impose any religious test they darned well please. (This is just an abstract comment--I'll vote for Romney cheerfully, if he's nominated.)

I support Hunter ~ maybe Thompson ~ but after tonight, I at least understand why Rudy’s resolve has had such appeal.

It’s fear, plain and simple.

I don’t think McCain has a prayer of being the nominee. He’s preaching that reach across the aisle stuff to the wrong audience. We all dislike him because he sought liberal media attention and approval above all else.

I sent one of his “questionnaires” back telling him I didn’t think he was mentally stable enough to be President and resented the way he’d turned his back on the Republican Party and our President.

Lately only Rudy and Mitt are still trying to get my support, but I’ve stopped opening Rudy’s. I think John’s people got the message.

O my God...on the backs of those serving in the military...that is so looney. Because someone doesn’t serve in the military does not make them any less of character. I am sure that the Romneys appreciate the military alot and we all support them with our tax dollars. Romney has enough character to help many businesses be successful and helped to provide many jobs for people as well as running a very liberal state and he still held onto his conservative core principals.

Tradition.

That’s the problem.

Traditionally folks didn’t fly planes into skyscrapers and cause them to burn and collapse.

The rules of the game have changed all over the map. Fred isn’t aware. That’s a problem.

Yeah, and it doesn’t say you can’t vote your bias.

I can’t imagine ever voting for anyone named Obama.

Mitt was Gov. for 3 1/2 yrs. and gone most of the time.

We all migh support the military with our tax dollars but the military support us and the country with their blood and lives.

“Or maybe First Lady”

LOL!

Hey, he's got a chance. Rudy digs that whole crossdressing scene and he's gonna need at least one new squeeze to get through his next gig. Too bad Sean isn't Rudy's cousin; he'd be a shoo-in.

So, don't be laughin' at me.

"Saying you understand how a nation or group of people could be prevoked into attacking us..."

Based on what Ron Paul said tonight, it is clear to me that he does not in the least "understand" why the militant Islamics have repeatedly attacked the US. He did not offer any evidence that he understands the motivations of the Koranimals. Hint: the repeated attacks against the WTC (1993 and 2001) had nothing to do with US influence in Iran in the 1950's. None of the WTC attackers were Iranian or actively supported by Iran at the time.

President Paul's #1 defense spending priority: Building a time machine so that we can retro-actively prevent the US from supporting the Shah taking over Iran in the 1950's. Face it, he may have good ideas about limited government, etc., but when it comes to the WoT, he's just a nut.

The 9/11 hijackers changed the rules of the game.

The Democrats moving the primaries all up front changed the rules of the game.

To win a generational war against IslamoNazis you have to be able to plan way ahead.

To win the nomination of a major national political party you have to plan and organize way ahead.

Fred hasn’t done that.

I don’t believe you can get the nomination anymore without early planning.

“Tradition” of summer announcements is gone.
