Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #2 Columbia, South Carolina 05/15/07 - Official Discussion Thread
Watch live coverage of the First-in-the-South Republican Party Presidential Candidate debate on FOX News Channel and FOXNews.com on Tuesday, May 15, at 9 p.m. EDT (6 p.m. PDT).
You're joking right? How did you survive the purge?
It's quite interesting to see Romney supporters going down the exact same rhetorical road that the Rooty-tooters here did not that long ago.
I’ve been echoing your very point for months now. Abortion and gun ownership, gay right , whatever will not change no matter what Republican wins. I still say vote for who will best keep us from getting blown up by Islam and take the bull by the horns on the WOT .
It's designed to make it possible for the average citizen to grab his gun and defend the country or his home at a moment's notice.
When it comes to defending the country, an assault weapon is a lot more useful that a safe sporting rifle locked in a childproof safe.
The surpises for me are that Hunter did so well, and Ron Paul did so awful.
Tancredo really showed his best too. Romney did well, so did Rudy.
Frankly, besides Ron Paul, I’d take any of these guys over Hillary/Obama!!!!
“I didn’t leave the Democrat party...the Democrat party left me” - Ronald Reagan explaining why he changed from Democrat to Republican.
I said this earlier.
Thomas Jefferson when dealing with the barbary pirates said F that.
Our founding fathers have seen this.
We lead or they lead
“protecting the people in America”
That’s not Rudi then
FRed Thompson, Duncan Hunter and Tancredo are the only ones in the running that would protect the people in America...
I only could pay half attention. because of my threadmistress responsibilities elsewhere
It seems to me that only a few things are clear:
1. Several folks should drop out now, T. Thompson, Paul, Gilmore. I’d add McCain, maybe, for other reasons. Bye, Bye.
2. The media is just terrified of Duncan Hunter, don’t ask me why. They go out of their way to avoid mentioning him, both left and right.
3. The text messaging results thus far explain nothing except the Sanjaya phenomenon.
If the coalition is that dumb not to realize the obvious than we deserve to lose and that’s a shame. There are far more important issues ,like this country’s survival .That’s what’s wrong with republicans they can’t stand up and unite, democrats do because they want to win and winning is everything in politics.
He has a high rating from the arab institute because he doesn’t support taxpayer money, billions every year going to Israel, but then again he doesn’t support the billions going to egypt, jordan, and the countless other god forsaken places in the world the bureaucrats at the state department think it should go.
I don’t have a problem with this, noninterventionism was a traditional republican stance, once upon a time...
He is the only traditional conservative republican in almost every aspect and issue and thus has my full support.
They’re called “assault weapons.” By liberals. Like Romney. What part of that do you fail to understand?
That’s just plain silly.
I can’t tell you how glad and relieved I was when Pat Buchannan left the Republican Party and became a Reform candidate.
Who said that I was a Romney supporter. I’ve stated many times in various threads that I’m still undecided. I just choose to look at all of the candidate’s positions and judge accordingly rather than be a “one issue voter.” If an assault weapons ban doesn’t even cross my radar screen, so what? It doesn’t mean that you can’t be.
Well the first thing we need to do is stop enabling them like we did Saddam and The Shah of Iran who wasn't so nice himself. Next IF a person is a threat to stability we can use such venues as Letters of Marque and Reprisal. It saves taxpayer money and our troops lives. Another dictator dies and life goes on in the M.E. I also say let them fight between themselves. Better themselves than U.S.
we all have our agendas
EV is an absolute, frothing-at-the-mouth, twisted, demented loon when it comes to Romney.
He's got Romney Derangement Syndrome and he's got it bad.
And if you're joining his loony tunes parade, you have serious issues too.
I wasn't pleased with Romney's answer on the AWB either, but it is no different from Ronald Reagan's and George W. Bush's stances. Folks around here who claim to revere Reagan but detest Romney because of his answer on this issue are either first class hypcrities or abysmally ignorant.
I meant the candidates you mentioned in your first reply to me.
