Drudge is currently flashing a story about an imminent terror threat against German citizens in the country.
This morning, the State of Alabama was the announced winner of a $4 billion steel mfg. plant to be located in Mobile, Al by German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp. There was supposed to be a press conference and public announcement with Governor Riley and the CEO and other representatives of ThyssenKrupp.
About an hour ago, traffic was temporarily halted on I-85 West in Montgomery as approximately 50 police cars and motorcycles passed by along with 1 Humvee.
Information is locked up tight, and none of the authorities will talk with the local press about it and are claiming a lack of knowldege. There have been some statements in the local press (talk radio) that it involves Homeland Security.
Needless to say, something is up.
Is O.J. in Alabama today?
Sometimes one has to read between the lines...
I had to do a paper on them many moons ago. They made the big honkin’ artillary that flattened the fortress of Liege and forced Belgium to surrender in WWI.
Ironically much of Russia’s artillary before WWI was made by them.
*snort* Love that graphic; I’m stealing it! ;o)
I stole it myself. Help yourself... ;-)
So, what happened to this story? It's completely gone from Drudge. At one point he had it in large red font at the top of the page.
I generally stay out of the City of Atlanta, which fortunately is only ~10% of the metro area population.
This could all be solved by writing “there are MANY rumors”.
I’m still trying to figure how “Germans are threatened in America” (apparently false) even relates to a story about AL getting a Krupp factory!
As hard as Krupp Steel!!
Big Bertha. Krupp cannons were a symbol of military prestige all over the world. Even Monaco bought an 88, although their country was so small they had nowhere to fire it.
I e-mailed it to our son. He runs around all the time saying “ONOZ”!
Excellent. Or simply, “There are rumors.”

Perhaps he'll replace it with a story about an imminent DNC legal threat against FReeper citizens in this country.
