CBNNews.com - Virginia Beach, Va - Before the celebrating came the turning of tassels and accepting this charge:

"I want you to strive for greatness through service," said CBN founder Pat Robertson.

The largest class in Regent's history sang a hymn bowed their heads in prayer.

"Father," prayed Pastor Jack Hayford. "We come with hearts of gratitude for each of these graduates."

{snip}

Some say they were initially skeptical about having a Mormon address a Christian audience.

"There were some people who were alarmed," said Regent graduate Cassy McLauchlin. "I was surprised because I just didn't think he was the speaker we would have here, but they let us know he wasn't coming to speak on any theological issues but he was coming to address us at graduation."

What did they think he would have done? Light black candles and sacrifice a goat while deriding Jesus?

Mormons are Christians. It's called the Church of Jesus Christ of Letter Day Saints.

(I'm not Mormon, but grew up with them and find them to be very patriotic Americans)

I don't have a problem with Regent having a Presidential candidate address the graduates. Good for them.

But Mormons are NOT christians. Anyone who believes that Jesus is a spirit brother of Satan (yes, they do believe this) and that Mormons will all be gods like Christ is (yes they believe this too) is not a christian.

Nonsense. Facts are facts.

Jesus says he is THE way. Fact. Mormoms can never be gods no matter how hard they try.

[some skeptical having a Mormon address Christian audience]

Unlike the skepticism of having an atheist address a Christian audience which never gets press.

From the Mormon web site...

http://www.mormon.org/learn/0,8672,1089-1,00.html

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was the Creator, He is our Savior, and He will be our Judge.

Under the direction of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ created the earth (John 1:10, Hebrews 1:2).

When Jesus lived on the earth (approximately 2,000 years ago), He led a perfect life. He taught by word and example how people should live in love of God and others.

Through His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and by giving His life on the cross—that is, by performing the Atonement—Jesus Christ saved all of us from our sins as we follow Him. Because of the Atonement, we can be forgiven of our sins when we sincerely repent.

Through His Resurrection, Jesus Christ saved us from death. Because He overcame death, we will all be given the gift of resurrection (Acts 24:15, 1 Corinthians 15:22).

When life on this earth is over, Jesus Christ will be our Judge (Acts 10:42, Acts 17:31).

I am Mormon. Not wanting to argue but just to clarify some misunderstandings. Yes, we believe that Satan was also a spitit child of God who rebelled against God and became the Father of Lies witht the goal of dragging everyone else down with him. As to being gods...we believe that God is our Literal Father and as such wants those who prove to be righteous (Moromn or not) to learn all that He knows and to share in all that He share. Again, I am not trying to start an argument but wanting to clear that all up. If you disagree then that is fine.

Thanks for the list of scriptures.

Now answer the question. Is Jesus the spirit brother of Satan?

I don’t even know what a spirit brother is (or care). I suggest you ask the mormon who posted.

So sharing in what God has means that you will be a god?

Well, you should care. That Christ is the brother of Satan is one of your doctrines.

you checked wrong, they are great people and we share many values but their beliefs *(Jesus and Satan are brothers, Man will be God over their own little worlds, and that Jesus was not there in the begining with God)* exclude them from being a Christian denomination.

I cant vote for Romney because I don’t trust him as pro-life yet its a little convenient he came to it when he did. It has nothing to do with him being a Mormon.

It means that the sae way in which your child can grow up to be like you, each of us has that spark of the divine that allows us to be like Him. Again, not trying to argue just explain. If you disagree then so be it.

We are all children of God. Including Jesus and Satan. Satan rebelled and was cast out. So your post, while technically true, was misleading.

It is? Since when? How do you know that too? Amazing.

I, too, am wary of any "conservative" that got elected to anything in MA in the last 20 years. The chance of anyone getting elected President that shares my theology is so remote that it is pretty low on the list of criteria for my support.
