Paris riots follow Sarkozy victory

Riot police fired tear gas at stone-throwing protesters gathered in central Paris today to demonstrate against the presidential election victory of right-winger Nicolas Sarkozy, an AFP journalist said.

The clashes took place on the Place de la Bastille where about 5,000 supporters of the defeated Socialist candidate Segolene Royal had gone to await the election results.

Up to 300 rioters, some of whom were masked, made running attacks on riot police who took up positions at the entrance to boulevards leading onto the square.

Earlier a small crowd of protesters, brandishing black and red anarchist flags, set fire to an effigy of Sarkozy in the square before tearing it limb from limb and then stamping on it.

So what does France want the US to do....extinguish 10 percent of the Sun’s out-put! If there is any warming (Satellite data says no, surface temps says yes) it’s coming from the sun since Mars’ climate has been warming and reflectivity increases have been measured from other planets as well, leading one to surmise that the sun has increased its output of late!

So translation: our sun is a variable, prepare to be cooked then frozen again!

He takes office May 16. Their parliamentary elections come sometimes in June. May their left’s reaction earn him a landslide majority with which to work!

Sark is definitely stupid, he showed that in his acceptance speech, which was all about appealing to the left that will forever hate him for taking some of their power. He isn't going to give anybody the boot.

France doesn't go to war because it had its balls cut off approximately at Verdun, not because it solves anything without doing so. Every slow and deliberate thing France has done in its modern history has been a retreat and a surrender of western civilization.

They will not annihilate anything. Instead Sark will appeal to the press to like him for championing global warming and standing up to the US over other made up idiocies, but will be repaid with contempt and hostility. The only thing he will manage to achieve is marginally less disfunctional economic practices. Philosophically France will remain a cesspole, and internationally it will fail to accomplish anything in the present war for civilization.

I'd rather the future were brighter and the man more serious, but it isn't because he isn't. Nobody in France is up to the height of the times. And that is an affliction not limited to France.

I find a certain irony that the socialist rabble chose to riot at the Bastille.

There is something about this photo that is very disturbing to me. I think it may be the elitist projection that was captured.

Oh, yeah... it just screams "incredibly deeply in love with myself, and, darnit, you feel it too."

As bad as Gore and his supporters behaved in 2000, they never resorted to that.

Maybe because, as stupid as his supporters were/are, they know our police and our citizens carry guns and aren't afraid to use them in defense of themselves and others.

I saw the photo about a week ago,I think. And tonight when I went searching for it I saw dozens of photos of her with her arms raised, it seems to be her thing.

Her facial expression with the head tilt in this one really struck me.

Before there can be mass extraditions, the French will have to decide to stand their ground. They stand and watch while cars burn and their culture erodes.
