Segolene Royal’s demagogic prediction that there would be riots if Sarky won, turn out to be true, predictably. So she was right about at least ONE thing. Unfortunately one can’t base a political career or leadership on being psychic once in a lifetime.

"I thought about making it a bumper sticker, but where I live, I would be killed."

The fact that you can say that and I'm not suprised demonstrates how bad it already is.

That worries me.

“”Rioting in Paris?”
“It’s a quagmire. France out of Paris Now!”

They’re in a civil war! Retreat! Surrender! They missed the benchmarks! Give ‘em a timeline! No more funds for the French!

Are these the same “youths” who burned all the cars in the past? You know...the ones who inspired the high voter turnout in the first place?

or are these anti-war liberal peaceniks who’ve decided violence is ok afterall?

“He faced two problems then and the same two problems now. These are 1) the criminal hooligans and hoodlums themselves, and 2) hesitant and unenterprising police and state prosecutors.”

The police and prosecutors are probably like those found in other western countries. They will do their jobs...so long as they have the political support and receive some prodding. The CRS does not strike me as shrinking violets. If the political leadership says to do what’s necessary and supports them when they do so, they’ll likely be happy to oblige.

I agree. As the saying goes, “The fish rots from the head first.” Sarkozy’s election indicates that a majority of French men and women are ready for a more vigorous and exacting approach to the threats of Islamic exclusivity and youth lawlessness.

But it is one thing to win the election and quite another to rule. Time will tell whether he can put together the durable political coalition needed to make real changes.

12 gauge bean bags are much better in this case. The rioter gets to roll around on the ground, making for exciting footage to be shown all over the world. Then the little brat gets his mask pulled off before he is dragged in front of a judge. And that’s what they’re really afraid of - they don’t want anyone to know who they are.

There is also a lot of paperwork if you kill them. Beanbags and Tasers are much more effective, and entertaining, tools of parental responsibility.

They’re doing what Royal told them to do. Good proof that socialists have no place in a civilized society.
