Terrorists are going after our fuel suppliers and we are depending on our enemies for food... how stupid are the people running this country (in the final analysis??)

OK ALL HERE IS WHAT IS HAPPENING

in the oct-nov-dec period of 96 the raw materials of pet food/animal feed jumped up in price. (ethanol /fuel prices)

they reformulated and by law have 3 or more months to declare the reformulation on bags.

The Chinese companies saw a way to sell their inferior products to the US by adding crap that boosted the Nitrogen profile, (the cheap way to measure protien)

They added what they had cheapest... a plastics raw material/fertilizer.

All our food is suspect. Anything that ate feed or any product that had protein added since then till six months from now. (even our food) The stuff is still in the pipeline.

FYI:
http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/2007-04-30-chinese-imports-usat_N.htm

Don’t think I have ever tried to post a link, hope it works.

...The Food and Drug Administration is enforcing a new import alert that greatly expands its curtailment of some food ingredients imported from China, authorizing border inspectors to detain ingredients used in everything from noodles to breakfast bars....

WHY THE FRAQ WON’T THEY TELL US WHICH *&((!((*(%% FEED BRAND IS CONTAMINATED???

I am sick unto death of them not telling us which products contain this contaminated grain. I just bought some myotonic goats (aka fainting goats) and I will not have my herd eating this ****! I have egg chickens and I want to know which feed contained the contaminants. But will they tell us? NO...

I already started cooking for my dogs. Now I’ve got to go and call every feed mill I’ve bought from and ask them if they know where their grain comes from...

and I will, first thing tomorrow. If they have imported ANYTHING, it’s going in the trash.

My cats are throwing up a LOT lately. They are eating Purina Friskies dry and Purina Naturals dry. I wonder if it’s got something in there. I am sorry but I am not cooking for them.

I just began to get my feet wet this year with a garden. We're planning our hog pen and chicken coop. Should have the piglets and chicks next spring. Google "square foot gardening" for the produce. Buy from your local farmer's market!

I calculated that 100 chickens, 2 hogs and 2 new calves a year would keep our family "off the grid". I'm thinking about a hydroponics garden to keep fresh produce in the house all year 'round, but I haven't made up my mind yet. I think the stuff that comes from dirt just tastes better.

That's about as far as I've got. My mom raised goats, but I just can't stand goat milk. I'm thinking about getting a "Bossy" for our farm, but I'm not thrilled with the idea. I just hate the milking schedule. Now if you put up an extra hog you could trade with someone who produces milk locally and get your dairy that way. Two extra steer at auction would pay for the whole mess. (all the feed and seed)

It's a lot of work, but I think it's worth it. Right now my daughter's thinking about making her own baby food (when the time comes). Things like that really make you think about where your food comes from.

Folks, this is the tip of a large iceberg....

Manna Pro has a heritage of quality and takes pride in maintaining the highest quality standards for the products it produces and sells under the Manna Pro brand name.

Very recently, a few customers have reported that, when mixed with water, the Unimilk they purchased turns light grey in color rather than the characteristic creamy white. As we have investigated these consumer calls, we have identified that a single batch of Unimilk is affected by this issue.
...What is significant here is the penetration of possible highly toxic food into the category of “Milk Replacer” and “Weaning Formula” for dogs and cats. Many CTCA Code of Ethics Breeders and others use milk replacers and weaning formulae routinely, often as a bridge between mother’s milk and puppy food at weaning time. So BEWARE!!! Check ingredient lists carefully.

Where is the outrage?

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!

Last week one pig farm in CA, then there were 6 farms and the slaughter of 6,000 pigs.

Last week they said it was in one chicken farm in Missouri........ok......now 38 chicken farms in Indiana.

Why, I ask you did the FDA have the Center for disease control on alert in early March to be on the alert for kidney failure in humans?

Call your Senators, call your Congressmen, call news agencies, write the President.
I have and am going to call and write again.

Ball Blue Book of Canning

"Organic Gardening & Farming" preferably the older, digest size ones.

EARLY 'Mother Earth News"

Or, hit the local farmer's markets & U-Pick operations, an ask plenty of questions before buying or picking.

I read last week that a lot of “organic food” here is imported from Mexico.
That was reassuring to me, lol.

And have you checked the price of the organic food they are selling lately, it has skyrocketed.

You mean, like our local market's SPECIAL this week:
Organic Romaine, mixed greens, or spinach $2.99/5oz clamshell?

Oh, yes, I have noticed.

Also note that China also produces “organic” food & medicinals, too.

In their case, I think it means “Ingredients: Coal tar derivatives, Esters, Ketones, alkaloids, Protein derived from ground dog pizzles, cellulose from hospital waste bins, artificial color & natural aromas added to disguise....”

At least I just a got a check today from our neighbor for the pasturage; now we can buy our annual organic lamb from another neighbor, as well as return some of the money for 1/2 a beef. The spring turkey is picked out for shooting, and in a few months, deer season opens...and I KNOW what all of them eat, or are fertilized with.

Meanwhile, the rhubarb is up, the trees are budding, and the garden is sprouting.

Until this thing gets settled, we'll be eating a lot of lentils, and other vegetarian dishes...and we're definitely not vegetarians!

But the dog food is still a problem, even though we are now making our own how do we know the meat we're using isn't contaminated?

IMHO, some of the recalls (Natural Balance for instance) stated that their manufacturer was adding rice protein to the formula, without their knowledge (it isn't on their ingredient formula for several of their canned foods recalled.) That must be a criminal act on some level, yet I've heard nothing about prosecuting folks for misrepresenting the products their making.
