WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. Duncan Hunter called Wednesday for Sen. Harry Reid to resign his post as Senate majority leader over remarks that the senator made last week that the war in Iraq "is lost" if the United States continues on its current policy.
Hunter, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, is the ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee.
"In my opinion Sen. Reid, having made that statement, which can only have a demoralizing effect on our troops and an effect of encouragement of the adversary, I think it would be appropriate for Sen. Reid to resign his position as the leader of the United States Senate," he said.

Heh heh, anything to put the truth into pictures!
I don't even think of that puke. My concern was Hunter's LOWBALLING of the number of people in the target population AlQaida was trying to kill.
He's gotta' get right with the numbers before the Dems start the old McCarthy stuff on him ~ and as you no doubt recall that concerned how many Commies were on his list and how many lists he had. The numbers changed from speech to speech. Dems didn't care about Commies ~ they were the Commies. The American people proved to be easy dupes for the criticism of changing numbers.
If Hunter ever wants to be President he's got to get the numbers down and stick with them, and only after he finds out what they are.
harry reid.
just another scu&bag democrat who gets away with being a scu&bag. (he’ll never resign. the msm will ratchet up the communist rhetoric and denigrate, drop by drop, anyone who suggests that he resign)
Good for you Duncan!
Excellent!! Good for you!! It IS time we do speak out, and louder than we have before.
CNNMBCBSBC ran Reid’s remarks on the front page 24/7 for two days and a leading Republican calling him out on his treason gets 3 paragraphs on the back page.
No bias here. Move along.
BTTT
Which is better? Crusty Harry is the gift that keeps on giving but if he stepped down we’d then have Dickhead Durbin to kick around
Can’t speak for anyone else but down here in the swamps of Delaware, we ARE speaking out.
Here’s another form of hypocrisy that’ll make you cry.
Delaware is one of the few states with more Reps than Senators. Heh. We have exactly ONE Rep and two senators, one of which is Biden, you should smile.
Anyhoo, our Rep is Mike Castle, a RINO we’ve had to suffer with for yay many years now and this past year he voted for something that just pushed me beyond my tolerance level.
Castle is the head of the so-called “Main Stream Republicans” (read RINO) and he gets funding from Soros, I’m not making this up. A couple of years ago he voted to block drilling in ANWR and this action like to give me a heart attack. Come on...this man is NOT representing even his liberal constituents in Delaware as most Americans think drilling in a frozen tundra to be a fine thing.
Okay. So I swallowed that even though he’s harming my progeny by keeping us dependent on foreign oil. I voted for him last time, holding my damn nose.
A few months ago, maybe you know, Castle votes FOR FEDERAL FUNDING OF EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH!
What part of that vote is in any way Republican or Conservative? First, pubs don’t normally espouse outrageous government spending, electing instead for private business to invest. So does Castle think all of a sudden Repubs want to spend money on the sort of thing private investors should be spending? And if private investors ain’t buying into it, what makes Castle think Republicans want the government to support it.
Second, and most horrific, give me the name of one damn Republican in this country besides Mike Castle who thinks that growing human embryos to be a good thing given that adult stem cell research is so promising and never mind that we’re talking the creation and destructions of actual human beings for God knows what nefarious purpose?
You had to go and get me started, didn’t you?
And the Republican party of Delaware thinks the base should keep supporting this guy, working our tails off, raising money...yada, yada? What planet are they calling in from?
I’m sick of arguing with them. I think those entrenched Repubs know what the base’s issues are but they don’t care. Does anyone think that Mike Castle represents even the most LIBERAL of his constituents here iin Delaware? I don’t even know a flaming liberal here in the swamp state who thinks we should be making little human beings that the George Soros’ and rich Arab shiekhs should have spare body parts when needed.
I gotta stop now. I don’t have the answer but don’t you double damn dare me to vote for Mike Castle again, don’t you try it, don’t call me a name, don’t tell me the dire consequences of letting a Dem in his place. A RINO like this is the same thing as having a Dem, quit peeing upon my feet and telling me it’s raining.
I might not vote for a Dem but you’ll have to put me in a torture chamber before I’ll support a RINO ever again.
Eventually they’ll all get booted outta there but it’s gonna take years. Let’s hope the RINOS don’t destroy the country first.
I’m tired....quit baiting me.
This is great, we need to start asking Dems to resign every time they open their mouths. Bunch of flag burning traitors.
‘Its about time someone in the Republican party grew a pair!’
From the silence we continue to hear, Duncan may be the only one. Well, and Fred, but he isn’t in an elected office at this time.
I agree. It's long overdue. I think the things Reid, Durbin and Kennedy et al have been saying ever since Abu Ghraib have been used for purely political reasons and have had a huge effect on dampening the popular support for the war. I often wonder how things may have turned out differently if our country had put politics aside and remained united behind the mission (and/or we had had 200,000 or so more troops!).
In any event, at times like these I agree with this sentiment attributed to Abe Lincoln: Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged.~ President Abraham Lincoln
Apparently, they are saying now that Abe didn't really say this, but I can't blame him if he did.
Good for Hunter. Republicans need to use the “impeach,” “step down,” “retire” words more often about offensive Rats. They have no problem asking for the whole Bush Administration to resign. Republicans should not have a problem asking for the Rats to resign either.
LOL!!! And probably true.
The last part of that NY Post article says it all...
“They certainly cannot drive the Americans out. No power on earth can. Unless, of course, Harry Reid does it for them.”
“Reid needs to retire, his dementia is showing.”
Dittos!
^5 Duncan Hunter.
“Maybe it is the phone calls from folks like us “
Just got off the phone with my Senators office and told him to stand up and say he wants Dirty Harry to resign.
“That alone might just get my vote.”
Might just get my vote also.............WTG Duncan.
