WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. Duncan Hunter called Wednesday for Sen. Harry Reid to resign his post as Senate majority leader over remarks that the senator made last week that the war in Iraq "is lost" if the United States continues on its current policy.

Hunter, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, is the ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee.

"In my opinion Sen. Reid, having made that statement, which can only have a demoralizing effect on our troops and an effect of encouragement of the adversary, I think it would be appropriate for Sen. Reid to resign his position as the leader of the United States Senate," he said.

Please list all of the others who have said anything about Reid’s remark.

This may not be what you are looking for, but it is all I have at my finger tips.

"demoralizing to our troops, and just plain wrong" - Boehner
"Surely this isn’t the consensus position of SINate Demonrats."- McConnell
"I think that is irresponsible…" - VP Cheney
"There’s a good group of people in Washington, fair, decent, honorable people…we should never question anybody’s patriotism if they don’t happen to agree with the President." - President Bush

Sharpton and Jackson should be calling for Reid’s removal. By emboldening the enemy, Reid has put minority soldiers at a greater risk than what they were before.

With Hunter a longshot for the top spot, I hope he gets a good look at VP. If the my way or the high way conservatives stay home with Hunter as the #2 with say either Romney or Giuliani at the top you know what their true intentions really are.

Hey FF, I wish dozens of Reps. & Sens. would join Hunter in telling Harry Ass Reid to resign his leadership roll.
Reid is beyond contempt.

I'm fairly certain that there is no way in hell that Hunter would compromise his principles and run as Giuliani's VP, so I don't even have to worry about that scenario.

I must be dreaming.

I was SHOCKED when Harry Reid said what he said. Yeah, I know I shouldn’t be shocked at anything the Dems do.

Just yesterday I was at a meeting of GOP folk. I’ll share this story with y’all.

Over and over we keep getting polled, grilled, asked and queried as to what WE want from the pubbies. I’ve been to focus groups, monthly meetings, my normal women’s GOP group, and always...they want to know...why are WE, the base, disatisfied.

Yesterday a local bigwig GOP guy stands at the podium, asking us yet again why we are angry.

Well I’ve had enough. I stood right up and I TOLD THE MAN!

“This past week,” I began my adversarial rant, “the United States Sentate Majority Leader stood in public and declared that a war in WHICH THE US IS CURRENTLY ENGAGED IS LOST!”

I paused for effect. “Can you imagine if any congress critter did such a thing while we fought Japan or the Germans?” I paused again for thought.

“And yet,” I gamely continued on, “not one single Repub congress critter or even one of the pubbies running for President, offered one word of condemnation.” Pause here, think some more.

“THAT, in a nushell, is why your Republican base is so disillusioned. Republicans are spineless and more concerned with offending a fellow elite congress critter than they are about this country or anything else, or so it seems.”

I got a standing ovation.

I feel a revolution coming, folks. Us little guys, we’re mad.

How nice that FINALLY one pubbie speaks up.

Where is Rudy? I hear McCain’s demanding GONZALES resign! Well damn, a pub presidential contender wants OUR guy to quit, let’s make nice with Harry Reid, the traitor.

Now that I think about it....where is Mitt Romney?

Even our guys running for office have no gonads.

And they keep wondering why we’re so damn mad.....

Not meaning to criticize, but why had he waited a week before calling on Reid to step down? Why not immediately? Plenty of credit to him though, because we’re still waiting on the GOP Leadership to comment.
