Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

“At this point and time, I am concerned about keeping a Dem out of the Whitehouse.”

The best way to do that is to avoid running a liberal republican that has positions that are offensive to large parts of the conservative base.

“There is no nation on earth powerful enough to accomplish our overthrow. Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from anothe quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence. I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men and become the instruments of their own undoing.”

“You are absolutely correct. If the GOP nominates an abortionist (.... add 10 page laundry list of Rudy’s short comings here ...) the GOP will destroy itself along with demolishing the conservative movement. Congratulations for stumbling onto the obvious truth (obvious to conservatives anyway).”

Truth.

Now, do I get the ass kisser award for posts 5000-6000?, BTW we are hitting 10,000 people.

Good. I don’t want you to get banned. Although (being someone funny) it was hard to imagine anybody who is the head of the South Park ping list being embarrased about anything ;-)

#50 by itself was innocuous, don’t you think? Quid must have been on thin ice - or his timing was p-poor.

As I have explained at least fifty times, he can NOT enter now without jeopardizing the final episodes of Law and Order. He WILL fulfill his commitments, because that is who he is.

If he entered now, every network that showed L and O would be forced to give equal time to every one of his opponents, in this case, the entire Republican field.

Maybe you'll get hectoring email from Sheryl Crow or enraged voicemail from Alec Baldwin.

Hard to top that.

It's the same silly conceit the Rudyphiles repeated for weeks: only Rudy can win.

I’m not “dinging” him. I like Fred. I’d vote for him. But he has cancer NOW, and that could make a grueling campaign unfeasable. Remember, Rudy left his Senate campaign because of his cancer and the demands that the treatment put on him.

Get your facts straight, Kelly Lynch. Here are Fred Thompson's words from Redstate.com:

"We have all seen the courageous battle that Elizabeth and John Edwards are fighting, and there are so many others. Fortunately, there are an increasing number of good stories because of the medical advances that have been made. I have friends in politics, some in Congress, some running for President, and others who have successfully dealt with cancer. It is certainly no respecter of persons and totally non-partisan. That point was driven home to me about 2 1/2 years ago when, shortly after a routine physical, I was diagnosed with what the doctors call an indolent lymphoma. Of the 30-plus kinds of lymphoma this is a "good" kind, if there is such a thing."

"I have had no illness from it, or even any symptoms. My life expectancy should not be affected. I am in remission, and it is very treatable with drugs if treatment is needed in the future--and with no debilitating side effects."

"I am one of the lucky ones. There are many lucky ones today. And for all of our diversity, we share one thing in common--a deep appreciation for the fact that we live in the United States of America and have the best medicine and the best doctors the world has even known."

This does not appear different from the others, Sen. McCain or Mayor Giuliani.
