We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
He sleeps with a clear conscience and a deep faith. And he probably prays for his enemies before he retires. He is a decent and America-loving man, even his faults are because he has a high opinion of all people and expects them to act as he would act.
God Bless President George W. Bush.
“If I have 2 Liberals that I have been given a choice on and I am 100% opposed to one and only 90% opposed to the other, how does that help my conservative brethren? (Those are accurate percentages by the way).”
It helps them because, though they lose either way, they’re 10% better off than they’d be with the “100% opposed” guy in office.
and you!
He has done so much good. Much of it, like his appointments to the supreme court will not be recognized until his end of term. Sad, but I have admired him and the disrespect he gets from all corners bothers me. His legacy will be a good one methinks, at least from the conservative corners.
Prayers for him.

Thanks Jim. I think it was time.
There has been alot more in common on this thread lately than not in common. Most of the disagreement has not been about candidates but the celebration or mourning of the former Freepers.
Some who don’t have FR’s interests at heart will try to reopen the wounds from this battle. Let’s not let them succeed.
No, heck no. That is not at all what I was saying. I apologize if it came off that way. I look forward to those that have stood in the shadows of others picking up the pieces, well, because some of huge stature have left. To me it inspiring, but to some it may come across as cold. :)
I guess that is why those parts of the Bhagavad-Gita (where Krishna speaks to Arjuna) have always resonated with me.
In the last few weeks I have come to understand/realize that the Creator wants us to come to him thru the Lord Jesus Christ, and that mankind will at some point in the future be tested in ways we cannot remotely imagine today.

But even if people do disagree with you, they still fall victim to your charms! |
I learned as a child that if I had offended someone the proper thing to do was to sincerely apologize. Whether I thought they should have felt offended had nothing to do with it. That lesson is also a good one for anyone who is married. I have often apologized to my husband even when I didn’t think he should have been offended by something I said. The high road is closer to God. ;)
For example, I never knew about the Wideawakes movement, although I had pretty good American history teachers.
Congratulations on your realization and welcome to a new brother in Christ!
