We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
My opinion not that it matter a bit, but Howlin was tough. Turned off a lot of folks and perhaps sent more people packing over the years than this thread could even begin to touch on. She is the leader of a new site that will not be focusing on being an anti-freeper site, but a site that will work in the interests of the right side of the aisle albeit perhaps not as conservative as this one. I wish her well, and perhaps she may come back - who knows...?
One thing I have learned over the years is that everyone is replaceable. There are many things that some of the departed freepers will take with them, but with that comes opportunity. Opportunity for some of those that stood in the shadows to rise up and fill a void, lead a movement, lead a cause. Action not words - we must all get involved.
As always, inspiring and excellent quote Knitting! Thanks again for them!
You misspelled “healed” in your tagline.
In your case, it should have been “heel.”
and another:
Having thus chosen our course, without guile and with pure purpose, let us renew our trust in God, and go forward without fear and with manly hearts.
Abraham Lincoln
We've been watching you buster.
Dwell on the past, or look to the future.
This thread is all but finished now, and good, bad or ugly, it served it’s purpose and FR will be stronger for it.
Now that one sends chill down MY spine.
Thanks for vouching for RF and welcome to Free Republic, Rachel. I do believe your post is the first flower to bloom in this freshly plowed ground after the storm and it is a thing of beauty.
Indeed so. I have been a long time lurker, but it never felt safe for die hard Christian Conservatives to post here when the Libs were unchecked. You will see a lot of me now tho.
Glad to hear it! Even my flowers are blooming bigger and brighter. I have a patch of blue flowers that are real pretty. I don’t know what they are. I didn’t plant them. But they’re blooming. I had some calla lilies that died out a couple years ago, and now they’re back. All the bulbs I planted are in full bloom. They were supposed to bloom at alternating times, but they’re all in full bloom this week. The migratory birds that usually go back up north before now are still here singing at my window. It’s a zippety-doo-dah day!

Bilbo Baggins phrased this Golden Rule for online-comunities:I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you as well as you deserve.
I'm sorry to witness this blood-letting...
The beginning of the end of the thread? As long as this thread has been, that still could take days, especially if people keep posting those cool photos and reconciling with each other. Wouldn’t want to stop a good thing.

You know a little bit about America, but not enough to win a game show. Hit the books, before you embarrass yourself. Let us Heal. |
No blood has been spilled. Only pixels.
Seeing that picture raises the hair on my neck in anger.
Good. It should.
Trying to start it up again?
... and all I got was a hippie tee shirt!? We need better prizes here . . . |
