Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?

However, if the choice is between Rudy and Hillary and you dont vote - youre helping her to get into office by your inaction. Hope you can live with that.if the choice comes to JulieAnnie or Old Krusty that we are already fed.

Yeah I’m out west, not too far from Deep Creek Lake.
Urbana!! We almost bought there, a beautiful area among the sprawl of 270. I have a connection there with the football coaches. When they won four straight state championships. I knew several of the coaches very well. I coached at E.Roosevelt in Greenbelt. We had kids go to PennSt,Florida and many other great D1 schools.

I shared a few of my conservative activism stories to get the dialogue going. Now is the time for you to put your conservative cards on the table. Show us something better than insulting cookie bakers. Hillary Clinton did that years ago. Give us something positive to grow as conservatives.
I'm going to make another batch of cookies.

Since you didn't post your olive branch pledge in the open forum, it is evident you weren't sincere in your FReepmail.
Oh it was sincere, however you chose to place demands and conditions on any peaceful overture from me, and with you alluding to those *private* overtures in the open forum, you have made your own intentions and motives abundantly clear.

I remember when Eleanor Roosevelt HS was built.
My first home in Maryland was on Cipriano Road...right up the street from there.

“Let’s do something positive here. Let’s share stories about our conservative activism experiences. You first. Tell us about what you do to promote conservatism outside of this thread, dmw. Tell us about your FReeper activities...your experiences at March For Justice, Gathering of Eagles, or CPAC. Share with us your local activism projects too so that we may learn and grow from your experiences.”
You’ve repeated this mantra to everyone who you seem to have issues with. If you think that you are a better conservative than those who haven’t attended the events you mention then I applaud you. Those are good things you’ve done and you seem to be mighty *PROUD* of them.
I wonder, could you share with us what *YOU* have done here on this forum to promote conservatism to those who have chose to criticize it and tear it down? Could you tell us how you have responded to people who *howl* about how bad conservatives are, and how happy they will be when conservatives no longer have their foot and the necks of the republican party? Could you tell us how you’ve responded to those who have continued to ridicule, and dis, President Reagan, while edifying and promoting one of the most liberal republican candidates we’ve had in decades? And, finally, could you tell us what you said to a recent poster who accused FR of not being accountable with the funds that are donated to FR? Since we are asking questions, how about we start there?
NN, you seem to be bitter person. I think it’s because the very people who’ve have been banned from FR (mostly because they wanted to be) are good friends of yours. You seem to be taking it out on me and a few other FReepers here who you feel are responsible for their demise. I have a suggestion for you—get over it. Bitterness is a horrible thing to hold on to, and if you hold onto it long enough, it could turn you into a hateful person. Not a good trait for a nurse--is it? Life is to short to be bitter—let it go.
If you miss your friends who are no longer with us, then I suggest you go over to their playground and play with them. You don’t seem at all happy here anymore since they left, so why stay if you're gonna be miserable and bitter? I’m not suggesting you leave (you're a good patriotic FReeper), I’m just saying that almost every one of your posts shows how bitter you are about what’s happened here. What’s the point in staying if you aren’t gonna let it go and get over it? I hope you can find a way to let it go and move on, I really do.
If you continue to post sarcastic comments to me I plan to ignore them from here on out. Life’s too short to argue with you, or anyone else for that matter. You’ve made it abundantly clear from your posts what you think of me. I don’t care, and I don’t plan to invest anymore time in you until you get over your bitterness and move on from the past. If it makes you feel better to post sarcastic comments to me and tell me how superior you are to me because you attend some FReeper rallies, then please continue. Just don’t expect me to respond because there's nothing constructive that can come from our continued dialogue.

I played catch with my 10 yr old this weekend and played some football with my 2 yr old.
I answered your question a few days ago. I choose to be active in my local GOP and I run my own business. More detail than that is none of your business.
Btw, I like chocolate chip.

I believe I said exactly that in my post #15312, correcting IrishRainy who contended that the building was privately owned.
I was responding to Wagglebee's initial post, which called it the NY Port Authority, not that post. You certainly got the name correct there, and are correct that the Port Authority owned both the land and the buildings. The confusion comes because the buildings were LEASED to Silverstein Properties - a private developer (Silverstein has since relinquished part of the lease on some of the new buildings, including the Freedom Tower, if I remember correctly).
True. But in this instance, the Port Authority was simply the landlord.
Because the Port Authority was owner of the World Trade Center, New York City building and construction codes didn't apply to the buildings - just like in any New York state office building. They still don't. This has become an issue recently with the Freedom Tower. And other city laws might not apply to the Port Authorty's operations of its buildings either.
I have no idea what agency was responsible for WTC emergency planning...
That would be NY City officials--NYPD, NYFD and the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management. There was an article published just the other day and posted at FR:
While the NYPD, NYFD and OEM were certainly responsible for emergency RESPONSE, nothing in the article you linked discusses emergency PLANNING for the buildings themselves. Wagglebee's contention is that emergency planning in the buildings hadn't changed since the 1993 bombing, and it was Giuliani's fault. That's not clear. For example, the Port Authority put up additional emergency lighting in the stairways after 1993 - even though they were not required to because NYC building codes didn't apply. That alone made the evacuation easier on 9/11 than in 1993.
To: Pravious
A nice twist, skillful posting on your part Pravious, however if you are going to trust Giuliani because he is NOT Hillary Clinton, you need to consider Rudy's own words when he said :
"Clinton's positions are very much like mine"
If Rudy had not been mayor of NYC on 9/11, his presidential aspirations would already have been dismissed as the product of an oversized ego and megalomania.

Remember what ultimately happened to Robespierre is a historical reference to the French Revolution, not the name of a FReeper. It is the equivalent of saying remember happens to witch hunters at the end of a witch hunt - they often meet the same fate as the so-called “witches”.

You fail to see the humor in your invoking the name of a banned Freeper (Robespierre) unintentionally, I’m sure.

“remember happens to witch hunters at the end of a witch hunt - they often meet the same fate as the so-called witches.”
Now think about what you’re saying ny, it simply doesn’t match reality. Jim Robinson simply posted his thoughts on conservatism and his rejection of Giulani. The Rudybots then came here on this site, and to this particular thread and either abused conservatives and the owner or begged to be zotted.

The Oatmeals versus Chocolate Chips
embroiled in a feud.
One said, “I’m by far the best.”
The other came unglued.
One said, “You’re a WITCH.
Go take your batch ~ you’re just a coven.”
The other said, “I think I will!”
and joined another oven.
So on and on they battled
throwing punches as they mumbled,
Til finally they destroyed themselves.
That’s how the cookies crumbled.

It’s a nice, mild, windy day here in Upstate NY.
I’ve got laundry hanging out, just finished planting potatoes and onions, and need to run some errands.
All in all, a great day.
