Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

You know what FRiend, I will not pass judgment on you, I promise. Cann you not tell me the air has become foul here? And I hate it. And, I hope it passes. Sincerely and really I do. I eat at more than one restaurant. I shop at mre than one grocery store. I enjoy more than one pub. I have more than one friend. I drive more than one car. And,

I post at more than one place.

If you think my comment at Wide Awakes makes me deserving of bullet to my virtual/digital head, well then, you need something else to divert your energy. It is fresh there for the moment. But, I have always loved it here too. I plan to be around.

Doh! You caught me. After 9 years, I thought I had you all fooled, but not you and your eagle - er, Blackbird - eye.

LOL! Well, you wouldn't be the first. Just pointing out that "time spent" isn't necessarilly "time served". Your mileage may vary, but some of those most recent to fly into the zapper were not and have not ever fooled some of US. Stick with "Right turn Clyde" and all will be well. Blackbird.

Like I said, Rudy for Homeland Security, not POTUS.

Our borders are part of our homeland security. Put Tancredo in that position, he's tenacious in controlling them.

Rudy would hand each one sneaking over a welcome card and direct them to sanctuary cities and how to obtain 'free' health care and any other goody they desired with American taxpayers footing the bill. Dang, if they get pregnant, they can get 'free abortions' paid by the increasingly pizzed off American taxpayers.

No thanks, let rudy retire to a quiet private life in San Fransisco where he can participate in gay parades to his hearts content.

Then, once again, it would serve you well to do a reality check. From what I can see, you’re either willingly putting on blinders or you don’t have the critical thinking skills to navigate your way around a thread like this and you might find yourself headed towards the zapper out of emotionalism. There may be other cases that fit your particular situation, but they aren’t strong enough to overcome the gravitational momentum you build up when you start dancing on such a highwire.

Your post 14173 is very eloquent and accurate IMO. I agree that it’s too late to fix the damage and I’m also not proud anymore of being a freeper.

I’ve loved FR over the years, and probably still do, but the last couple days have been an eye opener.

If you ever want to find someone’s posts on a message board you can often do a site search on google.

For example to find my posts on Free Republic you could go to google and search for this.

Hi Kevmo.

No, I don’t have blinders on, and I’ve spent a lot of time looking through the threads. I find disagreement and animosity, as usual on FR. .

I haven’t found Reagan bashing or the trashing of our values.

There have been plenty of trolls deservedly zotted over the years here, and some of those are probably included in those who got the axe during the last couple of days, since this fratricide is the perfect opportunity for provocateurs to make even more trouble. But, as I’ve said, I think most who are gone were just good conservatives who made the mistake of supporting the front running Republican candidate.

I gather that the majority of those who are gone, left of their own accord. I doubt that any of those were Democrat moles, I think they were all good conservatives.

OMG! You've raised victim hood to a new level.

>>>>>Cann you not tell me the air has become foul here? And I hate it. And, I hope it passes. Sincerely and really I do.

So you hold out hope, that after beginning to get his conservative house in order for the 2008 presidential campaign, Jim`s gonna let things get out of control once again. Wow. The air on FR had become pretty foul. It became foul from the incessant spewing from all sorts of troubled characters. The malcontents, misfits and militants who increasingly tried to ram liberalism down the throats of good FReepers, while undermining conservatism at every opportunity.

Frankly, I don't really care where anyone posts. Its just interesting to watch the events unfold. You can post where you choose to post. If you keep posting on FR, expect to be met with the truth. Perhaps you've not burned your bridges with the big guy. Only time will tell.

I think your horse must've kicked you in the head.

You like Rudy, I don't. LOL

Nope. My horse didn't kick me in the head, but a moose bit my sister once. You keep saying that I like Rudy but you're wrong and I think you know that. If not, why don't you read my posting history and become an informed commentator before making any more unfounded accusations. I'd sure appreciate it. Thank you. :)

We are guests in Mr. Robinson's house.

I've seen this posted over and over in this thread..... While I'm aware and understand Jim Robinson is the site founder and site admin and site overseer, thousands contribute funds to keep this site active......so I'm not sure about the "Jim Rob's house".....analogy....

You described it very accurately. I walked into one of their swarms and came close to the edge myself. Ironically, three of the four little jackals are now former FReepers.

It was the first time in five years that one of my posts was deleted by the mods (because I was baiting one of the trolls) and my wakeup call to their strategy. I was luckier than most.

From what I can see, the more notorious of the agitators are now history and, with the exception to some whining by their enablers, things are settling back. There is some continuing resentment to the recent events and I suppose that they will carry that for a while.

Amazingly, I still see on other threads a reference to this one followed by a gasp of surprise a “I didn’t know they were banning people!” response. I guess that should tell us something about the size and depth of the FreeRepublic community.

It’s been quite a ride!
