We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
No offense, but there's not a lot of that on the web. I worry about terrorism a little bit. I worry about illness. I worry about eternity.
I don't worry much about getting banned from FR.
The web changes, and FR changes. FR may steer the right path, or it may veer out of existence and/or relevance.
Suppose the marxists and the entire leftist MSM went out of business tomorrow. What would the "Latest Posts" list include? That's right, Mark Levin drinking game threads, "Breaking: Loud Sound Heard in Texas City" and Smokey Backrooms.
Hopefully it won't turn out like a new monster like MADD became, or even how MoveOn.org morphed from the Clinton Impeachment to Global Warming.

Otherwise, there wouldn't be Mike Savage threads. There wouldn't be "new planet discovered" threads. There wouldn't be physics threads. These are scattered all over the diagram and some are often excluded from the football-shaped intersection.
I don't even think JimRob thinks he makes FR what it is, like the garden analogy, he's just a gardener and he tries to weed and plant, but the final result is not really his direct creation.

Remember Sabertooth, thag, peacebaby, dashing dasher, thag, paulab, missyme, Xenalyte_alien, Patrick Henry and all the rest. Their crimes were posting funny posts, or pictures of stuffed animals in leather, or thought-provoking political science, or actual provable evolutionary science.
Now you have stable posters such as Celtjew Libertarian banned because his only crime was bringing up facts, true facts about the founding fathers. That, and he believed in God and evolution.
I haven't seen you discipline T'wit for his/her ghoulishness, or do you condone such behaviour?

JimRob has graciously allowed us to build communities here. In return, he expects us to basically agree with or assent to his mission. Or at least, not rub our disagreement in his face in a public way.
It’s still his place.
I’m sure you don’t have a problem with his being kind and generous towards us.
In return, we should respect his wishes and opinions, and behave ourselves in appropriate matters. If we have major disagreements with his mission statement, we shouldn’t really be talking politics here out of respect.

Of course forum members (Even infrequent posters) who fully agree with the mission statement and who reign in the invectives don't really have to worry about any of this. I never have to worry about whether my mask is on strait. Perhaps you could try not using subterfuge?
