The war in Iraq "is lost" and a US troop surge is failing to bring peace to the country, the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Congress, Harry Reid, said Thursday.
"I believe ... that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week," Reid said, on the same day US President George W. Bush was giving a speech at an Ohio town hall meeting defending the war on terror.
Words like yours would have been...and should have been...fighting words in the 1940s and would have resulted in you having a huge can of "whoop" opened up on you, and IMHO, deservedly so.
Your words and actions are those of an individual invested in the victory of our enemies, and therefore are the words of an enemy abettor and traitor to your nation's cause and interests.
TREASON.
Harry wants to hug the terrorists
We’re doomed! Just ask the Democrats.
I hope our troops don’t hear this.
Nasty things come to mind .... when I hear this horrendous stuff ... .
Oh yeah...
Excuse me... going to gather my Reid land deal files.
Is it any wonder why Harry Reid looks so sour all the time. He is a Quisling pacifist socialist Dem who wants to undermine the USA as long it gives the Dems cover and more votes. See today that the House Dems got a bill giving DC residents a vote as a House seat rep. Soon, the Senate will go along with that with Reid calling for fair representation. Of course, the Iraquis have no right to fair representation to be free and Islamofascist free! Harry Reid is a rotten Senator, a rotten American and a rotten patriot. Can that be any more clear????
In the broader sense, it's interesting that we've grown so far apart as a nation, and so morally weak as a people, that such words would ring so hollow outside of FR. As it is, the vast majority of Americans see this as a mere difference of opinion, not aid and comfort to the enemy. There will be no public outcry, and Reid will feel no repercussions from this. Most Americans are no longer on board with the effort, except for those that care about the troops more than they ever cared about Iraq, per se.
The Iraq campaign, as currently constituted, won't be long for this world once President Bush leaves office. America is simply tired of pursing this particular victory against these particular enemies. As far as that meaning "Iraq is lost", Reid is right. That's also why he'll walk away from this unscathed.
I like it. It puts Hillary in the position of having to constantly-constantly-constantly defend her vote. How her cadre continues to approve this obnoxious shit amazes me.
Mr. Reid is FOS.
Let’s bring the Missouri out of mothballs and have Harry Reid surrender to Al Qaeda on its deck.
State is responsible for the early screw ups... thanks to Bremmer. I disagree with Bush’s immigration and new tone, but he is not to blame personally for the failure of State Department, OUR Generals and their plans.
McCain has been witnessed having emotional breakdowns and fits of anger. He has criticized President Bush in a time of War, merely for political gain. He and tim russert are far too friendly and the face time McCain has had on the Sunday shows has hurt Conservatives across America. McCain was against the Bush Tax Cuts... and he has been proved wrong again! He is far too cozy with the media and libs... and McCain/Feingold was a violation of our Constitutional Rights. I know that Bush signed it into law, but I am not a bot and I have disagreements with some of what he has done. I disagreed with Reagan a time or two also.
I do not hate McCain and would vote for him over any rat... but he is not my first choice. I am just tired of Freepers sounding like charlie gibson, george stuffoneupyourbutticus, brian ross, dan rather or rosie o’donut. I guess that I have thin skin these days, but FR agrees with reid and pelosi far too often for my taste. Some Americans are pissy because they are unhappy. The vast majority of Americans have no right to be unhappy... they are spoiled and not worthy of the gifts GOD has bestowed upon each of us.

Didn’t know Reid was French.
You are being far too kind!!!

Yeah, this really motivates me to want to vote straight a Republican ticket even more. Quit crying over the fact that the R's got spanked because they acted like a bunch of milquetoast whipping boys for the Dims. Get back to me when Bush and the GOP get serious about controlling our borders (and acting like conservatives). Until then, I just have to send those thoughts right back at ya.
Go ahead, Osama. Take the trophy, jump in the convertible, blast “We Are the Champions” from the stereo speakers and take a couple of victory laps. Then you can go back to the cave and give Mahmoud and Moqtada a champaign shower. You’ve earned it, big guy. Harry Reid says so.
