If the picture shown is exemplitive of the types of dresses that were considered verboten, then I would say there seems to be a real overreaction. I wondering if Ms. Gardner is underendowed and maybe just a bit jealous of those who actually HAVE a chest. LOL! I went to an all girls Catholic high school back in the ‘60s and even the nuns, who were a strict group, were not this silly.

Then there was the junior high school prom (when I taught junior hs) that was summed up by a female teacher as "the girls looked stunning in their lovely gowns. then the music started and they all started dancing like tramps and hookers."
Anyone that thinks these dresses are too revealing would become apoplectic at the site of either one of these girls in a girls HS Volleyball uniform. Talk about revealing. I am far from a prude and I simply can’t understand why the schools think those uniforms are appropriate.
Most of them are made of lycra and are seemingly all ordered 3 sizes too small. The shirts are not bad, beyond being skin tight. It's the shorts that pose the problems when worn with a thong or no under garment. A study in dromedary anatomy if you get my drift...

Hi, my name is Dolores Melerine. Yes, the girl in the blue is my baby sister. To know her is to love her more than anything else in the world. She is the most kindest, generous, hardworking teen I know. And I’m not just saying that because she’s my sister. Miranda works 2 jobs, and makes great grades in school. She has been planning for her senior prom since, well, probably since the beginning of this year. She found this dress in a magazine and fell in love with it. She brought the picture to her teacher and head of the senior prom, and the teacher approved it. Miranda also told the teacher “hey, I’m not built like the model, I’m bigger chested.” The teacher told her that noone is built like this girl and gave her the ok to buy this dress. The night of the prom we received a frantic call from Miranda, saying that they told her that she could not come in and that if she did not leave the premesis, they were going to have her arrested. My parents rushed over there, and could not believe their eyes. The parking lot was full of girls AND GUYS who could not get inside. The teacher that was working the door (which was the same one that approved the dress) would not speak with anyone. Many of the girl’s parents were outside trying to alter these so called inappropriate dresses. The vice principal walked outside and said that no matter how they fixed their dresses, they could not come in. My sister left with her boyfriend and their group because they had dinner reservations, but my parents, my fiance, and 2 of my dad’s friends stuck around to see what the remainder of people inside of the prom were dressed like. None of us could believe our eyes at some of the girls that were allowed inside. And it was not fair to the males either. They were told that they could not come in because they did not have a jacket or a tie. Guys that were walking out didn’t have jackets or ties on either.
My sister is still SO upset with this. She has been crying constantly, and now even wants a breast reduction. I have found some pictures of girls that were allowed inside of the prom, and you would not believe your eyes. Why should they be allowed to enter dressed the way that they were dressed, while these 50 or more teenagers were not. The sad part about it all is that the teacher told them that if she denied them at the door, that means that they are a tramp and a slut and want to get laid. That is not something that you tell teenagers!!! And just to let you know, Miranda has been dating the same boy for the past 2 years.
I hate seeing my sister like this, it hurts so bad. Now we don’t know where to turn. All my sister wants is an apology. I believe that these kids should be given either another prom, or their money back.
Um, no. I was there. Girls were not allowed to alter their dresses. That’s a remark that is coming from someone at the school board and noone from the school board was even there. They do have school uniforms, and the policy pertains to when they are in school.
If you think something is too revealing about these girls dresses, you should see pictures of the girls that were in there!
And by the way, tell your kids that I’m so sorry that they will have to be wearing turtle necks and sweat pants to their prom!
Um, sorry, but she brought a picture of both the front AND back. She asked the teacher, “are you sure, I’m not built like her. I’m you know...heavier on the top.”
The teacher told her it was beautiful and to go and buy the dress, and then she was turned away by this exact woman. Tell me this is right. Tell me you wouldn’t be raising hell if this was your daughter.
Oh she is. Endowed and ROUND!!
