The following report is the raw data from a friend who started up an Indiana Chapter of GATHERING OF EAGLES, where they confronted Cindy Sheehan last night! Links to follow!
We had a good turnout to oppose Sheehan at Purdue last night and certainly can claim a success. At one point I counted 50 supporters but know shortly thereafter another group arrived. I would solidly estimate our outdoor crowd was easily 65 strong.
Apparently we were pretty strong inside (10 Rolling Thunder, Young Republicans and displeased members of the community) but I won't know for sure until our video team sorts through the data (we had two HD vid-cameras rolling inside).
I do know she was booed and some folks got so disgusted with her tripe that they walked out. She conducted a march to campus and we were told they mustered about 30 people for that. SO again, I think we did a good job.
As far as media goes, we were covered by several local papers and the local outlet (Channel 13). I believe Channel 13 gave us an honest shake, but need to view their website for a clip.
The good that happened: Several Gold Star Parents and a Blue Star Parent (3 sons in Iraq!!! 2 Marines and 1 Army) formed out center. They were very emotional about the turnout and happy to have us come from Michigan, Ohio and North Carolina. Several people just showed up after reading about us in the paper, including two Motor T Marines fresh out the Corps! We had a number of cars drive by and honk, wave and show support for us. Several Purdue employees were there, including a Biology Prof (yep, Sebolt had a beer with HIM later on!). Had a couple WWII vets there too. Wonderful to visit with them.
We sang the National Anthem twice and "Radar", our Michigan GOE State Coordinator, played music on his Concertina for us.
Lastly, we had students stop and ask what we were about, some of them stayed for awhile to visit and show support.
We had 3-4 incidents of the other side trying to goad us in cowardly fashion. Apparently they had not the numbers to make a statement. We had a pink haired kid with a 5 gallon bucket "drum" walk by us several times. We had three girls start to walk toward us with re-hashed peace posters, then when 30 yards away, decided against it (numbers, perhaps?). We had one car drive by screaming Sheehan Rocks.
And we had one coward in a tinted Suburban pull up behind us and sit there flipping us the bird until someone happened to look behind and see him. Yeah, that affected maybe two people. P**sy.
On a sadder note, fellow TWS'er "Jack", as many of you know has been tending to his wife who has terminal cancer. Well, Jack came out to be with us last night which surprised all of us. However, within an hour he was picked up as his wife had just passed. Its tough enough to have to deal with ignorant people then to see a family member lose someone at the same time was hard on us. I put myself in Jack's place, so I took the news pretty hard too. To know Jack is to truly know a strong man with a solid GOLD heart. Truly.
So folks, we won another victory, served our troops well and stood proud, respectful and silent, but suffered too. Truly a bittersweet night.
Semper Fi! Sabot on GOE website

Thank you sir. Wished I was there.

Woohoo!! Thank you so much for your efforts!!!
They're scrambling to find another place here in the Coachella Valley.
Way to go there Hoosiers
Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling on this cold A.M.
That Sheham is an idiot.
Great work Race. My congratulations to all!!
Excellent job!
I’m so sorry to hear about Jack’s wife, please let him know my thoughts and prayers are with him.
Hey we're Boilers not Hoosiers!
Bump
On a campus of 40,000 she could only get 30 people to march with her?.....LOL.....Purdue has one of the biggest ROTC units in the country and a whole lot of farmers, neither group could be bothered with her type of trash.
And proud of it. I was a Boilermaker a few years ago. Its a pretty good school. If I wasnt over here I would have been there too. Good Job to those involved.
I just e-mailed them on this!!
