Saw this coming a while ago. I like Adams, and I don’t say he was wrong (far from it!) but he’s been tweaking the nose of his employer for a long time. Repercussions are not justified, but they are to be expected.

"Right after this incident took place, one of my colleagues -- a former faculty senate president, a leader on campus -- developed the idea that I'd broken into her office and sprayed tear gas around, and actually accused me of felony breaking and entering," Adams said.

"The FBI went in and ran tests, and they didn't find anything," he added. "They passed the information on to the school in the spring of 2002, but no one passed that to me until 2006." As a result, he said "a cloud of suspicion" hung over him for a long time.

Seems to be a common theme - and with no punishment for false accusations - why not keep doing it...

I wish him well in this.

This is how it comes about that Universities have no points of view that are not hard left...they simply keep them out or refuse advancement.

I hope he prevails.

I guess they don't want too much diversity at the university.........

"An applicant's record is evaluated by senior faculty in the department, who make their recommendation based upon a variety of factors."

Important factors, like is the applicant a lesbian with spiked hair and a dog collar.

You wouldn't be referring to this book [ Welcome to the Ivory Tower of Babel: Confessions of a Conservative College Professor], would you?

This lively collection of essays surveys the campus culture wars from the conservative side of the trenches. Adams, a criminal justice professor at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, takes a big swipe at the politically correct, feminists, gay activists, the diversity establishment and what he portrays as the mealy-mouthed administrators and thin-skinned colleagues and students who are quick to fire off thoughtless allegations of racism and sexism. He takes on Cornel West, for his defense of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, and The Vagina Monologues, for a general over-ripeness, but mostly sticks to his own experiences asserting First Amendment rights against what he feels is the heavy-handed and censorious climate of left-wing orthodoxy at his own school.

No shocker here...along with islamists, liberals are one of the most bigoted groups on the face of the planet.

He has a good blog: dradams.org.

At which the reader may find this enlightening information:

Speaking Engagements:
Dr. Adams is available to speak on your campus. He charges $38,000 less than Michael Moore. He also shaves, bathes, and takes off his baseball cap before every speech.

Christophobics absolutely dominate academia. Theirs is a religous zealotry and fervor that imposes their "spiritual" articles of faith (secular humanism, atheism,...) upon all humanity.

The universities today are sanctified churches of the liberal creed.. The professors are clergy of varying ranks and authority. It is their bastion of retreat, like the monasteries of the dark ages, where they fellowship, preach and promote their faith through indotrination and authoritarianism of ideas. The universities today are just like the monasteries, abbeys and universities of the Dark Ages which were run by the Catholic church. All higher education was in the hands of the clergy.

There is absolutely a dominant, government religion. By merely refusing to claim themselves as a "religious" entity they bypass the Constitutional restrictions. They are religious subversives and zealots whose morality allows them to use any means necessary to dominate society, lies, coruption, capture of government legal and judiciary systems.

Everything a liberal believes is based on faith. Their tenets of belief are unsubstantiated, unsupported, nonfactual ideas and moralities. They accept all of it purely on faith. Theirs is absolutely a religion, a creed, that has 100% backing of the government.

We must attack them on Constituional grounds and brand them as the religion, the creed, that they are or traditional religions will never again gain parity and equality. They must be attacked with the same zeal that the tobacco industry, AIDS and global warming has been attacked.

We are indeed living in the Dark Ages. The liberals are more dominant than the Catholic church in Medieval times. Heresy is punished vigorously (Don Imus et al).

I disagree. Tweaking the nose of his employer - THE GOVERNMENT - is not simply being a Christian with conservative values. Standing up against liberal lies and abuse is not tweaking. Government agencies (schools included), as employers, are not allowed to discriminate based on religion or sex.

I've been thinking along those lines a lot lately.

Gore and his carbon offsets are just the sale of Indulgences.
Ceaselessly apologizing (Imus tried it) is a form of penance.
Heretics and apostates (from secular orthodoxy) are in big trouble.

We talk about Islam needing a Reformation -- I think the Democrats need one too.

Liberals are mentally ill. It's amazing that they get away with hiring and promoting themselves at places such as this school.

I agree. If you have a viewpoint other than the lefty one, you are marked for trouble for petting the dog’s fur the wrong way, so to speak, and eventually you will get bitten.

Mr. Adams’ columns are an absolute joy to read.

One has to be careful but I think that the conservatives should be more vocal. The traitorous left is and they think they rule the campus. Repercussions go both ways. How easy it is in a liberal world to use their own screwed up system to get them. lol

Is the school a state institution or private? If it’s state, he’s got a case. Am I wrong?
