BECK: The whole world is upside down. We`re back with the wives of three imprisoned law enforcement officers. I believe they are America`s first real political prisoners: Patty Compean, Monica Ramos and Ashley Hernandez.
And joining us now, Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter from California.
Congressman, let me start with you. U.S. attorney Johnny Sutton, tell me about this guy. He`s the guy who put all three Border Patrol officers behind bars. Who is he?
REP. DUNCAN HUNTER (R-CA): Well, you know, I know THE Compean and Ramos stories pretty clearly, not the other -- THE OTHER gentleman that`s involved, but it was actually a jury verdict that convicted agents Ramos and Compean, I think, very unfairly. But a jury verdict, Johnny Sutton was the U.S. Attorney that led the prosecution.
BECK: But, you know, you say a jury verdict, yet there HAVE been things and you know, Congressman, as well as I do, there is stuff that has been held from this jury. Now the jury comes back and says, "Well, geez, if we would have known these things," they never would have done that, "and if we also would have known it was that sentence we never would have gone for this."
HUNTER: Yes, Glenn, listen, you don`t even have to go that far. If you just read the transcript of the trial, and I`ve read the transcript of the trial, this is one of the most extreme injustices in American history, because these guys have been given essentially murder verdicts. They have been given 11 and 12 years in prison, which is about three more years than the average convicted murder in America.

I’ll admit it reads a lot better than it looked last night. Can you find where he ever answered Beck’s question about Sutton beyond the obvious?
..did somebody out there capture that interview?
He talked around the question. He didn’t answer it directly.
Thanks for posting this. Bump
Still looking for this specific interview, but here’s some that are related:

I was hoping somebody captured or Tubed last nights interview. I wasn't home :(
Hunter ping.
Ramos/Compean/Hernandez ping!
I have lost any respect for Bush over these BP agent jailings.
Bush has no political sense and is turning over my life and kids over to Hitlery. These BP agents case should have been dropped in a nano second and failing that the pardons should have been issued as the verdict was read. It takes 15 seconds of our amnesty president’s time to initial the pardons. What a joke he has become.
The BP agents should be pardoned, and now. If they are guilty of some administrative offense, fire them. They should not be doing time.
The Chapman issue is just as upsetting, and just as inexplicable. The article is right, for him to be extradited, his crime needs to be a crime in both countries. It isn’t. Its a misdemeanor even in Mexico, and its legal here. Extradition shouldn’t even be a question.
So something smells here, big time.
I've decided after watching Hunter several times on Glenn Beck and a few other shows that Hunter is absolutely TERRIBLE on camera when he knows people are watching.
He might have the best policies and ideas but he can't answer the questions asked properly. He isn't dodging them, it's more like he doesn't understand a lot of the questions asked, or he's still stuck on the previous question. He could be fine with prepared statements but an interview situation or in debates he is just not Presidential.
I'm sorry Hunter lovers but the guy is unelectable because of this. I would still support him in the administration somewhere that he will get better experience behind the mic and in front of the camera. Then with that practice and experience make a better run later.
Yeah, that’s the ticket! Let’s go instead for the lisping, stuttering, flip flopping Rudy!
And besides that, Hunter puts Bush to shame when it comes to speaking.
Why has the Bush administrations done nothing about this?
Sometimes, I think this a Rove tactic. Let something outrageous happen that will fester. Then react when the conservative base is in a frenzy.
Yours is precisely the same take I got on him last night. LAst night was the first time I saw Hunter interviewed and he really seemed incoherent, thus this post. Another hit is that he has been in Congress for 26 years. That’s just nuts.
I’ve seen him interviewed several times and unfortunatly last night was really one of his better ones.
That’s too bad. It is still early, though. And I must remind myself that I voted for George W. Bush 3 times. He ain’t exactly eloquentalish.
That's what I was thinking, if Bush can get by with his public speaking, Hunter certainly can. Hunter's only problem is he didn't have a dad that was President to help him on the way.
