Around 1980 my Dad showed me a book someone gave him as a crank gift, its title was 'Everything I know about Women' and every page was blank.
I had to laugh because it was so true for me also. I know nothing about 'them' although a few have come into the sphere of my life here and there during my journey into the unknown.
My POV is from the place of a 52 never married bach.
The torment I suffered at the hands of Women is way to intiimate for this forum, but for some reason I still love them (as I kneel down at my mothers grave when she died so young at 42 from cancer)
He loved himself, before he didn’t. I think.
And I guess that is why I might be insulted when she passes off my interest in her as something towards ‘any male/animal wanting her part’
Sigh.., all of you freeprs, just make sure to pull the correct voting lever next election.

The thing is, there should be some truth-in-advertising. I’ve heard all the “We want sensitive men”... “We want men who’ll listen to us”... Yada Yada Oprah crap until it’s comin outa my ears.
A couple months later, you see this woman (who you were sincerely attracted to), in a bar with a black eye and knocked up and she’s whinin “How come he’s so mean to me?...” Yawn.. hey, maybe if you hadn’t hooked up with a crack addict tattoo artist, things might be different...
And my apologies to tattoo artists.
Any man who has any sort of romantic illusions about women need only go into a ladies room. And I use the term ladies very loosely.
I guess I am very disenchanted, having lost my wife, and then proceeding to try to romance a woman for a couple years, and basically getting taken to the cleaners for it.
Isn't that the truth? I can't believe the drivel my dear wife watches on weekday TV.
I think all the soap-opera drama warps their idea of interpersonal relations. If we have a minor quarrel I have forgotten it by suppertime, but it sometimes seems as if she thinks we are characters on Dallas or Dynasty or whatever crap show they have nowdays, and I am trying to "destroy" her. And God forbid I offer any commentary on a Lifetime men-are-all-violent-cheating-pigs show.
And that's just the fictional shows, not to mention the man-hating bilge ladled into womens' brains by the likes of Oprah and Rosie O'Doughnuts.
I think this would be a better world if there were no TV at all.

I know what I want now is not even close to what I wanted in my misguided, naive 20s.
Kind of like the E.G. Robinson character in Key Largo. As Bogey points out, “ Rocco knows what he wants; he wants more.”
What about um chests other than Pam’s?
Is that you Alan Alda? runs ducking
Hmm,,couples make babies. Men don’t “give” them.
Best thought from the movie "My Fair Lady"- simply, 'Love Her, Love Her ...Love Her'.
“No man knows more about women than I do, and I know nothing.” — Seymour Hicks
“A misogynist is a man who hates women as much as women hate each other.” — HL Mencken
“Where would man be today if it wasn’t for women? In the Garden of Eden eating water melon and taking it easy.” — C Kennedy
“Women who can do. Those who can’t become feminists.” — Bobby Riggs
“She looked as if she’d been poured into her clothes and had forgotten to say when.” — PG Wodehouse.
“Women’s intuition is the result of millions of years of not thinking.” — Rupert Hughes
“When women kiss it always reminds me of prize fighters shaking hands.” — HL Mencken
“Men are simple; women are complicated. So, how can a man understand a woman?”
From my experience with women, men should not concern themselves with “what women want”, “what women are thinking”, “what women are about” or any of that silly drivel. Focus on yourself, your career, your hobbies, etc and everything will work itself out. What “real” man would sit around and obsess over what’s running through a woman’s mind?
I disagree. Some of the nastiest femi-nazis I've ever encountered are right here on Free Republic.
I haven’t a clue ;-).
I can vouch for that.
*ducking*...*running*...
However you must understand that you are so unlike the typical woman that constantly seeks to find a way to get a mate into the 'whipped' mode that it is a totally unapplicable comparison. And I mean that in the best possible light. *smile* ('Ay, I said I liked your profile luvvie)
Since I really do not feel up to getting flamed by armchair-quarterbacks this early in the morning, let Me simply say that in the interactions I have experienced -and I have recently thought quite a bit about such things due to a great deal of curiosity concerning the matter- no one respects in the end someone that allows themself to be walked all over. As for a 'serious' long-term relationship I will freely admit that there must be some leeway in this as I am currently more into the 'dating' game and not seriously involved with anyone, but I have not yet discovered any relationship where this is not the case.
In a nutshell mates; stick to your principles. You will be much happier in the long run.
Of course, this does not apply if you follow the Ted Bundy train of thought -but then again, if you did, you would most probably not be enguaging in interaction on this site then, would you? *laugh*
I tend to agree with post #1, they are about continuation of the species. ‘Course, my mother thought that’s what both of the sexes were about, ultimately I believe she was correct on that. Placemarker.
