* For [the governing authority] is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Rom. 13:4

That would be one cool sword... Happy Easter Swordmaker... just thought I would throw a sword verse in for ya today with a short classical Music tune for mood below..

Happy Easter!

I noticed (and I’m not surprised in the least) that there is no Easter graphic on the Google home page. They seem to promote every non-denominational day of importance, but not Christmas or Easter?

Today was Easter, but it was different; I left the Catholic church and began my search for a new church home. Like any human endeavor, the Catholic church isn’t perfect of course. So I’d dealt with the ups and downs, priest scandal, rainbow shash types, etc and taken things in stride with the optimism that orthodoxy would win out in the end. Until this:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1804771/posts?q=1&;page=1

Even then, I waited almost a month to see what would happen. Unfortunately nothing did. I suppose this was my Martin Luther moment. A church that raises funds for a Mosque representing a religion dedicated to its destruction has lost its way and the absolute lack of swift discipline and retribution against all those involved by the Vatican told me what I needed to know.

I’m not entirely sure where I’ll end up at the moment. Of course the Episcopalians, Methodists, Presbyterian Church-USA, American Baptist Church and Evangelical Lutheran church are all entirely out of the question due to their pro homosexual and in some cases pro abortion policies. I have no interest in the wild claims and antics of the pentecostals or charismatics either.

I went to a Baptist service tonight that was nice. I’ll probably drop in on the Missouri and Wisconsin synod Lutherans at some point, maybe an Orthodox church if I could find one.

Your prayers - and suggestions for future visits - would be welcome.

A blessed Easter to you and yours, Swordmaker.

"Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. ... He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him." The angel at the tomb (Matt. 27:5) “
