The poem that Bob contributed to the thread is so full of promise...it's just beautiful!
Thank you, poet. I always look forward to your work here!

Even though winter was not too bad this year, it still seemed long when it was so cold.
I can't wait for the temps to stay more even. I, too, have yard work to do. I'm going to do more planting in pots this year.
And, God willing, I'll be spending a week at the beach in NC this year for vacation.

READ: James 3:1-12
Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23
James, a pillar in the early church (Gal. 2:9), recognized the great destructive power and the danger of an uncontrolled tongue. He was not alone. Men and women in many cultures have warned us about the need to guard our speech. This bit of verse by an unknown writer says it well:
The boneless tongue, so small and weak, can crush and kill, declared the Greek.
The Persian proverb wisely saith, A lengthy tongue, an early death. Sometimes it takes this form instead: Dont let your tongue cut off your head.
While Arab sages this impart: The tongues great storehouse is the heart.
From Hebrew wit, the maxims sprung: Though feet should slip, dont let the tongue.
A verse from Scripture crowns the whole: Who keeps the tongue doth keep his soul.
Is it any wonder that James likened the tongue to a little fire that sets a great forest ablaze, or to the very small rudder that turns a mighty ship in a storm? (James 3:4-6).
O Lord, help us to learn a lesson from the wise. Help us to hold our tongue and not let it slip.
Good Morning GB.
Wonderful thread.
I'm Looking Forward to So Much, through our Lord's Grace; I've been Side-Lined for a Long Time from Gardening, Hiking, Yard Work, etc, because of Herniated Lumbar Discs, but am Finally Functioning Fairly Normally Again, so I'm Ready to Slowly Return to these Things. Glory to God! I'm Excited, because this Weekend is the Time I have Planned to Go Hiking through the Small Hills and Woods, a Joy I was Afraid I'd Never Experience Again.
I've Missed those Places So Much! Several Ponds Filled with Fish and Turtles, a Deep Creek Filled with Frogs and Tadpoles, and a Woods Replete with Birds of All Kinds. The Honeysuckle Blooms in the Clearings in the Woods, and the Fragrance is Absolutely Heavenly. There are Funny Small Bugs that Swim through the Creek, and they Look Like they're Wearing Little Tennis Shoes. With Eyes Tearing Up, I just cannot Wait!
Everyone have a Blessed, Blessed Spring!
P.S. Meg and Dolly, I am your Companion in Back Pain, and still Hurt Everyday; won't it be Wonderful in our Father's House, when these Pains will be a Thing of the Past.
Behold, I Make All Things New! (Rev.21:5)
