Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) chairs a House Oversight and Government Reform Ctme. hearing on the disclosure of CIA Agent Valerie Plame Wilson's identity. The hearing will look into whether White House officials followed appropriate procedures for safeguarding the identity of Ms. Wilson.

I'm listening to Rush's opening comments--he is covering VWP's remarks about how it wasn't widely known on the cocktail circuit that she was a covert agent.
Glad to hear Rush discussing it! She was admitting SOME people must have known, at least inside the cocktail circuit--
So where are they, to confirm that it was known? If she knew that people knew, why was she still doing it?
They weren't acting on behalf of Iraq, but the DNC, Howard Dean, and the Clinton Shadow Government...

I thought the source for the story they wanted to work for Richardson was the Wilsons themselves. I won't vouch for their veracity, however. Maybe Hillary offerred them a better deal. Their own advancement seems to be their primary preoccupation.

I've been told that most of the Republicans are boycotting the hearings. So far I've only heard about two of the Repubs that did show up.
She was asked by someone how the "outing" damaged her career, and she was pretty sketchy in her responses. No emotion involved...just claiming that she couldn't do the job she had done previously.

I wish I could pinpoint the date when facts became irrelevant on FR.
But of course, and every govt employee in that room probably got paid for a day's work.
The Clerk, the Chaplain, the Sergeant at arms, etc.
All the people in the gallery (who could be heard saying the Pledge of Allegiance) really got their money's worth for going through all the hassle required to get a pass to the gallery.
So...the GOP is still naive enough to think that this hearing and the testimony by Plame and Waxman and gang won't be portrayed as the REAL truth...
And that this won't be used to further promote the need for impeachment of Bush and Cheney??
She did not recommend him; she just suggested his name, but without recommendation. Remember, she is a trained liar. There is a weasel word in nearly every statement.
What about Senator "Leaky" Leahy?
I believe she conveniently "forgot" to have him sign a secrecy statement. Somehow, that technicality works for them, but don't get into technicalities about whether she was "covert" etc.
