Moonbats Get Stuck in Mud, Fail to Show for Protest!
At least that's one excuse. We don't really know what happened, but the anarchists and spoiled brats from the Encampment to Stop the War steered clear of Walter Reed today.
We declared Victory! around 5pm and packed up our flags and signs... then it started to rain ... and the "Encampment" inhabitants most certainly were not happy campers. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Actually, these cheapskates were trying to get in out of the rain by getting arrested rather than pay for a hotel room. *sigh*
Cindy-True-Supporter and Mike Sparling made several reconnaissance missions around the base to see if the kommie kooks were protesting on the 16th Street entrance. Nobody there. (If anyone saw a moonbat, please expand on the experience in the comments.)
Here's some pics of out-of-town FReepers who arrived early enough to join in the fun today.
eeevil conservative up from Georgia and iMacMan manning a corner.
Check out eeevil's radio show on AM920 WGKA every Saturday at 2pm. Also available on the web!
Necawa and Lurker Elizabeth* down from Jersey. They planned to spend the whole weekend here for the festivities on the Mall, but when they heard about today's FReep, they came flying down (in their car!).
leolf and Dad up from Texas being greeted by tgslTakoma.
Thanks to the quick-thinking and tireless FReeping of tgslTakoma, we had the permit for the usual Pinko area and kept it occupied all afternoon.
All Your Corners AND Alcoves are Belong To US!
There are a few more pics here.
The whole list of FReepers & FRiends in attendance (If I missed anyone - please let me know!): BillF, BufordP, Cindy-True-Supporter, eeevil conservative, Danang68, George & Ethel*, GunsAreOK, iMacMan, iraqikurd, leolf and Dad* up from Texas, Necawa and Mrs. Necawa down from Jersey*, PleaDeal, Sensei Ern, Taco Mamma, tgslTakoma, Trooprally [Mr. & Mrs.], WO4Man.
We'll be back at Walter Reed tomorrow night, March 16th, from 6:00 (new time!) until at least 9:30 at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW in Washington, D.C.
If you are in town for the Gathering of Eagles on Saturday, why not start your counter-protesting with us!
You're just throwing red meat to the libtards now, PleaDeal!
Outstanding!
yes! yes I am- I will actually be calling into the radio show from the GOE too!!!
Doing the show LIVE from DC!!!
Meanwhile think about those loonies camping out on the mall. Should make you feel warm all over.
Yep, but it wont make the joints bend any easier.
Victory, indeed! May it continue through the weekend!
To All Freepers and Lurkers who participated:
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for your patriotism and your devotion to our troops! May God send many blessings to all of you.
The genleman under the USMC flag:
"YOU DON'T SUPPORT OUR TROOPS"
IF
"YOU DON'T SUPPORT THEIR MISSION"
It's that simple.
"A storm warning is now in effect until till 9pm tonight. Accumulation of 3 to 6 inches of snow is expected. Current Conditions with snow, sleet and ice conditions over the entire region. The roadway is wet and slick. Maintenance is applying roadway treatments. Plan for slow moving vehicles."
I hate that road. Especially through the Somerset region.
Best of luck on your decision. Bill in Hershey
In light of the weather I was thinking of doing the southern route..NOT the PA turnpike.. might be just as much snow there though..mountains seem easier for trips at times.and yesm somerset can be testy.
. but guess at this point it is academic..Had a couple talks w/mechanic friends.. just isn't smart to be driving (even short in town) with the time bomb there. By NOT making the trip, I will have a little longer life on the situation with the radiator seal leak.
I looked at the PA map, and what's going on in Harrisburg right now, and they're talking about 6 - 12 inches of snow and a Winter Storm Warning.
Now Mr Ohio and I are hardy souls who don't mind the snow a bit, but 6 to 12 inches on the PA turnpike sounds too hazardous for us to risk.
Our schedule requires that we make good time, or at least normal time, and there is no way that's going to happen.
We haven't made our final decision, but it's not looking good for our making it to D.C. either, and my heart is breaking.
Perhaps your car woes were the Lord's way of protecting you (and us) from dangerous driving.....
ohio.. I can't help but think you are right to a degree. Hopefully it will deter the JERKS as well as us.
and I had a simply terrible dream last night ... I dreamt I was at DC at the rally with all my friends & there was some yelling, shoving & some nasty interaction with the bad guys.. heard shots & my two dogs were shot & killed..
Let me tell you I woke up immediately in a sweat..
Light purple is 6 - 12 inches, and that's the bulk of the trip for us across the turnpike, and they're already getting 'heavy snow' in Harrisburg.
Looks like next time for us.
I'll be checking in to see all the pictures, though, and hope to get a full report.
Most folks are already there, so the turnout for the good guys should be terrific.
They get heavier snow west of here to the Burgh. So, it is not a good time to be there.
I'm up to 8 inches just now and no quitting in sight.
I'm not sure I will venture to DC tonight for WR now. But I did hear that as soon as you get to the Maryland line it all turns to rain.
Playing it by ear here.
We have a six and a half hour trip under ideal circumstances and need to return tomorrow.
If we run into even six inches of snow falling, the delays caused will get us there in the middle of the night at best.
We're adventurous, but not stupid. :)
I hope you make it!
SOPs say "Use gloves" - I'd use gloves.
Fantastic! Victory IS sweet!
They were probably getting for the big melee down on the mall. They're talking very brave, but wait until they get a look at so many patriots...!
We're ready for them in Hollywood. I got the banners yesterday, and am really excited! The price was great, adn they look great! It's a win/win! We're going down earlier than we might have to, but at least we'll get better parking. I just hope that it doesn't deter our attendance, because it makes for a long day.
Have a great time! And if they swing at ya, do a citizen's arrest! Congrats againg!
Great idea! Wish I had thought of it!
