As far as I know, he isn't in bed with NARAL, Emily's list or MOVEON.org. They support Hillary.

FYI, Rudy is the *ONLY* Republican to receive donations from NARAL. And he has reciprocated by presiding over a warm welcome when they brought their traveling D&C road show to New York City years ago.

......Rudy will be concerned with abortion. Even Abe Lincoln, in the darkest days of the civil war, had a domestic policy (homestead act, transcontinental railroad, etc.) and Rudy will have a social policy. He will sign an Executive Order authorizing government agencies to pay for abortions for military service members and the poor, guaranteed.....

Besides the bully pulpit of the presidency that impacts public policy, the Executive Branch executes the law.

This is a powerful area with ominous consequences for the pro-life cause with a pro-abort like Rudy handling the levers of government.

Rudy should be forced to answer questions.

How will Rudy run the various agencies in the Department of Health that affect abortion? What about low dosage estrogen abortifacients---what about the morning-after pill? Will he authroize government-paid abortions for the poor?

What about the military? Will he authorize government-paid abortions for military service members?

Who will Rudy appoint to the UN? Someone who stands firm against the pro-abortion agenda?

Considering his long-term political alliances with NARAL and Planned Parenthood, it is doubtful Rudy can navigate these minefields to the satisfaction of pro-life conservatives.

"I'm generally not going to change my views"

That says it all in a nutshell. He has no intention to change is view and most likely never will. He supports abortion literally until birth with support of partial birth abortion. He has claimed that he supports "strict constitutionalists", but a "strict constitutionalist" may actually be pro-abortion like him. After all, his appointments in New York mostly leaned to the left, why not those as President?

He has the SAME stance.

His idea of "compassion" is exploiting the poor and mutilating their unborn baby to death - just because they may be poor and having YOU pay for it.

That's SICK and exploiting the underprivileged in the most inhumane way.

He will NEVER get my vote - EVER!

I'd rather PAY for their medical care and have the baby put up for adoption in return for the care - rather than murdering a little human being.

Ideally what I'd like to see happen is the veneer of what an abortion is removed. SHOW what an abortion is in EVERY single clinic. Stats prove that when a female SEES what an abortion is, they don't go through with it. I'd also like to see abortion ILLEGAL so people are more FORCED to control themselves and not act like animals in heat.

His stance is the SAME in 2007.

>> That valuable tissue doesn't go into a dumpster.

It's a shame the killed fetus needs to be described in such terms. We know the value dies at the hands of the abortionist.

"Do you honestly believe with a war on terror going on that Rudy is going to be concerned about abortion? As far as I know, he isn't in bed with NARAL, Emily's list or MOVEON.org. They support Hillary."

Life is sacred - adult or the unborn. If we continue to allow abortion unfettered as we do, we are no better than terrorist who lope off heads.

So you KNOW what an abortion is? They suck out the baby. They come out HEADLESS, without limbs and have a horrid death. There is NO difference between what terrorist do in mutilating an adult against their will than what happens to the unborn, I dare say AGAINST their will. No human being wants THAT kind of an end before they get started. It's sick.

Whether they are in bed with Naral or Emily's list or not doesn't matter since they want the SAME thing.

As for the war on terror, there is no earthly reason why that should STOP and we publically fund unborn mutilation - it makes no sense and it's a false choice and a false dilemma. We deliberately murder MORE unborn babies than we loose to terrorist on a DAILY basis.

Yes, he is.

I wish someone would be "caompassionate" and post pictures of what an abortion IS. See a headless baby. See a baby with out limbs. See a baby mutilated to DEATH. Maybe, with alittle luck they may not be so cold hearted and see the MORAL terrorist we have become by allowing this atrocity to continue and want it funded by tax dollars - so sick!

Last week, Bill Simon, a Rudy campaign worker, assured National Review that Rudy supports the Hyde Amendement . . .

No, he didn't. Bill Simon told National Review that he "had an assurance" that Rudy Giuliani supports the Hyde Amendment.

Since Rudy Giuliani has never come out with such a statement along these lines, and since Simon very specifically did not say that Giuliani himself had provided this "assurance," I think it's pretty safe to say that this is nothing more than a Clintonesque episode of lying to our faces.

"false dilemma."

Is this the new Conservative buzzword? Because I didn't receive the e-mail about it yet but have heard it on these boards about a dozen times already.

As far as life being sacred, I agree with you. It is. It is so sacred that our President, with both a Republican house and Republican senate couldn't do a dang thing about it.

And if the next President is to the right of Reagan, he also won't be able to do more than state his position on it while nothing gets done. And if a Democrat gets is elected then Roe will be with us another 20 years.

If you want Roe overturned then you need a Republican in office who will nominate Constructionist justices to SCOTUS. Meanwhile, I will take the wins we get in the states because that is where this belongs.

“As a Republican who supports a woman’s right to choose, it is particularly an honor to be here,” Giuliani said. He added: “The government shouldn’t dictate that choice by making it a crime or making it illegal.” -- Rudolph Giuliana, April 5, 2001, National Abortion Rights Action League’s “Champions of Choice” luncheon in Manhattan.

Throughout his political career, Rudy Giuliani has stated his most emphatic support for the most extreme of abortion positions. He's not simply "pro-choice", but he supports partial birth abortion and publically financed abortions. His positions on abortion are more extreme than many Democrats. And he's really painted himself into a corner with his repeated statements saying that his positions are never going to change. Either he lied then or he's lying now. Far be it from the liberal fifth column faux FReepers to recognize his extreme positions. They still pollute this conservative forum daily, abusing it with their constant open campaigning for the most liberal Republican presidential candidate ever.
