Attention Fred Flintstone and the Geico cave guys: "Stone Age" is no longer acceptable, joining the list of other words and terms deemed offensive in polite society.

Yeah, I think it could be really funny... although I've never heard of an ad campaign becoming a sh!tcom before. At least I don't think I have.
You just knew when you saw those "geico" commercials that LIBERALS would eventually move from "reality" to fantasy (not a long move for a lot of them).
This is absurd, when they start recognizing neandertals as an oppresses minority 'I'll go balisitic'!
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I'm just a caveman. I fell on some ice and later got thawed out by some of your scientists. Your world frightens and confuses me! Sometimes the honking horns of your traffic make me want to get out of my BMW.. and run off into the hills, or wherever.. Sometimes when I get a message on my fax machine, I wonder: "Did little demons get inside and type it?" I don't know! My primitive mind can't grasp these concepts. But there is one thing I do know - when a man like my client slips and falls on a sidewalk in front of a public library, then he is entitled to no less than two million in compensatory damages, and two million in punitive damages. Thank you.
Where do [European descended] Christians figure into any of this? (rhetorical, they don't).
Thank you sir.
And just who will have (barely) standing to sue?
And just who will have (barely) standing to sue?
Worst. Show. Idea. Ever.
Well I don't know about thst, have you looked at the TV guide lately? The test patterns are more entertaining than most of what's on CBS, NBC, ABC & Fox.
Well, just Hell!! I'll immediately cease and desist!!
Sounds like somebody got up on the wrong side of the rock this morning.
I know, I know! I just couldn't resist the Comic Book Guy line ;-)
They might have a point here. How could a guy who has a plate in his lip, dresses his hair with cow dung, goes around wearing nothing but a penis gourd, and actually makes tools out of stone, be considered anything more than just.....different?
Our strength is in our diversity.
No because the cavemen are a subtle metaphor for white folks in society. They're the one group that it's ok to demean -- and they're offended. Done right it could be HILARIOUS.
Holy crap. Just how many actual primatives (stone age-not phoney TV aktors) are still around?
What a gronk!
And how often do you see/hear that being used for people living today? (rhetorical).
See the problem there is that the fact that you use a different word doesn't change anybody's opinion, so the new word becomes loaded with subtext and it has to be changed again.
I think that the "Stone Age" epithet should be considered quite a compliment when applied to Islamo-fascists, since they haven't achieved that level of morality yet......
Somebody must have crawled out from under the wrong side of the rock this morning.
"the network announced plans to produce "Cavemen," a comedy series based on the characters. A trio of the beetle-browed but trendy men..."
I'd RATHER see the gecko cast as a super hero.
...what NEXT....???
"My Great Big Barnyard Wedding"....starring the AFLAC Duck...????
UNGN made a very interesting point in post #57. Why Atlanta? Perhaps so the bigots can be white men with Southern accents?
