And agent Bond testifying and twisting her testimony from the written notes. What was her famous line, something about not denying it... rats I don't remember, but it was akin to "Fake but accurate."

The FBI stunk unbelievably in this trial.

Oops -- correction:

I believe that the reason Libby didn't testify was because the Defense felt like Fitzfong did not prove proved his case, so there was no point in putting Libby on the stand. Correct me if I'm wrong.

He knew his moment of FAME! was coming and he dug for the easy shiny nuggets. Here's to Dear Mr. Big Mouth's Lottery Ticket of a Jury Notice! Enjoy!

He is probably imagining himself in the movie as we write. This guy had to be a plant, just not possible for this to occur by accident.

Perhaps the defense knew of that, and figured it would provide an opportunity in case of conviction.

I do find it odd that this guy was able to line up so many interviews within hours of the verdict.

Yeah, they were out to get Bush or Rove or both. But statements like this should be solid grounds for an appeal.

I heard the guy on LK tonight and he said he wasn't the foreman...in fact, it was a woman.

He made an interesting comment too...that they loved the judge, and gosh, he was really fair. In fact, when Ted was questioning Timmy, Fitzmas objected 36 times and was overruled 25 of those times...at least, that's what the reporters wrote.

Now Timmy was on the stand several weeks ago. So when did this guy learn this info? Sometime today...cramming as it were? Or did he read up on what the media was saying about the case all along - WHILE HE WAS ON THE JURY? If it was the latter, isn't that a no-no?

Amazing and the Crime of the Century goes largely unpunished... When Sandy Berger stole documents in an attempt to cover up the Clinton National Security Bungles which allowed 911 to happen he got a slap on the wrist... When the VP Aide forget to remember who he told sent whom to Niger for a boondoggle well he got hammered...

So much for the scales of Justice.

1. more thing you know it seems to me that if the Republicans aren't going to play hardball with any of these political issues then I guess they sort of deserve what fate gets them...

My cynasism gets the best of me and I start sounding like those I loathe.

This Denis fellow ought to be a dandy of a focus within this case from here forward. Did he fully and truthfully answer questions in voir dire? If so, why wasn't he struck for cause?

Either he lied or committed misconduct during the trial, or Libby's lawyer committed malpractice in failing to strike him. None of that seems like a stretch given what I've learned today.

The bottom line is that Bush must pardon him. Scooter Libby isn't going to jail over something this media-darling of a juror himself told the world was a trial of a scapegoat. That begs the question "scapegoat for what?" Certainly not that for which he was convicted. No, instead, this juror understood that Libby was being scapegoated for leaking Plame's name, and decided to convict Libby for something entirely else.

His statement is sooooo revealing.

This juror, with all of his chutzpah in seeking Cheney's head, in seeking Rove's head, and in basically acknowledging that Libby was a scapegoat for something other than perjury and obstruction, i.e., outing a CIA operative, has really revealed clear error, and has subjected his fellow jurors to intense scrutiny.

The sooner Bush pardons Libby the better.

Doesn't a showing of an impartial jury carry any weight?

The Republic is dying. This is simply another vignette in the long, sordid drama of it's unraveling.

At once, enraging and sad, isn't it?

Metanarratives are nothing but politicized fiction, so if that's how you get your kicks, you must be a very happy man because the left has a metanarrative for just about everything.

::SNORE:: Out of all of the "big newsstories" and not only is one charge cleared but four of minor pursuits. It is very funny, I know how some people try to think this is the most unethical Administration in memory, yeah I guess when 6 or 7 people resign and a few trials are called by Left-Wingers who know nothing. I was reading the Downside Legacy about Bill, and it was very amazing. Especially by the propaganda outlook that the whole Clinton Machine gave, the IPI(or whatever it was) and that 331 page document. Very few administrations come to the Clinton sleaze level.

Every single minute ole Bill got himself caught into one scandal after another all the while the Media was almost completely in bed with him (including people who were directly or indirectly connected to his administration). But, I guess if your hero is tarred and ran out of town that you have to find revenge to crease your desires. Makes me sick.

So the jury says they convicted the wrong guy. Brilliant. Sounds like a slam dunk on appeal to me.
