I believe Scooter is a lawyer by trade. I am still surprised that he answered a question directly about something that was years old. I can't tell you what I said to my wife on October 15, 2005 at 14:30 - even though there is a record that we talked on the phone. Make them come up with notes that "refresh" your memory.

Could he plead guilty, cry into the cameras and claim he was "abused as a child?"

Possibly. My guess is that Wells was thinking "appeal" since the beginning.

"No way 11 DCers found him not guilty so I would say anything other than a hung jury is bad news."
For sure. I think that they have been digging this last week just to see how bad they can lay it on him.

Interesting take. Irregardless it certainly sets up easy grounds for an appeal.

I'm afraid they spend all this time trying to figure out a way to find him guilty.

I am going to say something that is very antiPC.
If Libby gets off its going to be in part due to the color of his lawyer's skin.

Oh I doubt this jury let him off...it is a liberal DC jury after all.
I look for Guilty on call counts.
I think Wells sensed this yesterday.
