RODLLL!!!!
GOod Morning!!
I haven't seen any of those posts and I have no idea what you mean by eco unfriendly.
I do not go along with the over hype re climate change etc but I do have energy efficient light bulbs and turn appliances off rather than having them on standby. Commonsense as far as I am concerned.
So do I and so do the vast majority of people. The idea that there is some significant group of ultra right wing conservative Reps that are against conserving energy and for pollution just doesn't hold water. What we are against is government mandating how we live. The marketplace has and will do a far better job of changing our energy consumption habits. As energy costs increase, people will take measures to reduce their costs and products that do that will be purchased. Those that prefer an SUV or gas guzzling cars will buy them and pay the additional costs. If they can afford a second home or a private jet, so be it.
I guess Dems like Al Gore are "eco friendly" based on what they say or presumably would post on this site, but what they really do in their personal lives is not germane--just what they say. Gore and his ilk would rather buy energy indulgences than make any sacrifices in their personal lives. Painting Conservatives as "eco unfriendly" is just part of the Dem campaign to create the stereotype of the Conservatives as guntoting, bible thumping, racist, anti-gay bigots who want cut down the forests and build refineries in everyone's backyard.
Thanks for watching Matthews so I don't have to. What a bunch of buffoons.
I must have missed this story....
linky linky??
You would never get me to bet against you on this. All the videos of liberal gatherings show how much trash they leave behind. They don't take personal responsibility in other areas so I guess this should not come as a surprise.
Prayers for you and Dad....
Hey....don't blame me.....I'm flying commercial (and coach, ugh!) today.
;-)
Time for the boarding cattle call. Have fun, everyone!
I think you should not hold back, spill your guts, we love to hear your rants. It gets the adrenaline going on a cold, nasty Sunday Morning in March.
Thanks for the link
Brian Williams is in Iraq. Apparently NBC wants to appear credible when they tell us how it's just not working there.
My guess anything they want it to mean at the time
Ditto, here. I haven't watched these Sunday blab shows in months (years?).
The only way they are digestible is when they are filtered through this thread - sort of like the big filter the guy has installed on his septic truck tank that sifts out the solids when he's recycling your wastewater back into your household holding tank.
Most of what's left afterwards is thin gruel, and it's only good for greening up the grass.
###### Los Angeles Times Smears - Medal of Honor Winner.
###### Old Media Layoffs and New Media Hires -> Last year, almost 18,000 media employees lost their jobs -- the biggest group of layoffs since the dotcom bust. Meanwhile, online job boards are filling up with openings for digital hires.
###### Trashtalk @ CNN! - Diane Dimond(panelist): Cheney won't get Anna Nicole-like coverage when he dies. She gets away with NO -ONE challenging. Cheney Derangement Syndrome @ CNN is not new.
###### Paging Libby Jurors! - NBC commentator & MSNBC host Keith Olbermann to host People for the American Way event featuring Valerie Plame.
###### Jitters @ NBC!, Evening News Ratings hit - Producer gets booted!. Brian Williams is following Chris Wallace, who did it last week. It 's the CONTENT stupid! Anti-Christian & Anti-Military crusade won't sell for long.
###### Wash.Post Ombuds(wo)man set the Record straight, again! - 36 news organizations, including The (Wash)Post. argued that journalists shouldn't have to testify because no crime was committed as Plame wasn't a covert operative.
###### AP's Dictionary: "convicted cop-killer" = "freedom fighter" ! - Who's writing for the AP these days - Michael Moore? .
###### Newsweek Joins Islamists, Attack Ayaan Hirsi Ali, patriotic jihadist-fighting Muslim woman (who recently appeared on Glenn Beck, Bill Maher). And then, NYTimes follows newsweek.
###### Watched Fox lately? - Fox News employs some conservatives, but it is NOT a conservative news outlet. Far from it.
###### Unions protest New York Times! - to stop outsourcing About 100 demonstrators representing local newspapers and unions called for the New York Times Company to stop outsourcing. Massachusetts AFL-CIO President Bob Haynes denounced the recent layoffs and said future employee cuts could cripple the Globe.
###### Jim Vincini(Reuters) & Jan Crawford Greenburg(ABC) "alarmed" that President Bush may get to nominate 3rd SC Judge. ("alarmed" is her word).
###### Star Tribune cheats on circulation figures and faces lawsuit from advertisers.
###### Wash.ComPost spitting venom on Tony Snow & Prez.Bush. Explains why it fell to 8th position from 4th on circulation #s and falling profits.
###### LA Times finally realizes Ron Brownstein's bias, so changed him as Op-ed Columnist. HotSoup.com's Ron Fournier is returning to the Associated Press (Is AP that desparate to hire Founier after his FAILED venture?). Newsweek's WH Correspondents Awards Dinner guest is Clinton critic, David Geffen. Rick Santorum Becomes Fox News Contributor. Fed up with the "global warming" ads abusing under-aged children screaming at your face? Be prepared for their continuing children abuse by Ted Koppel to scream his anti-war screed in late-night shows & next week's MTP to promote his documentary - "Our Children's Children's War".
Yep, and I still have my button in a cabinet to get a chuckle over when I open it.
Everyone was picking up trash to toss out, regardless of how it got there. The most often heard words were "excuse me" and "thank you" as the crowd was so packed in together. We got there early to beat the traffic, which was a good thing. We were right in front of the podium for the program which meant we were among the last to leave and saw what people were doing to clean up.
The official Ft. Collins comment came out the next day as they complimented the entire group and thanked everyone for leaving it cleaner than it was before. They even quoted the trash crew saying they had more people than needed because of the way it was left.
I knew when I started to read "I'd bet cash money that..." I was reading another Miss Marple post uncovering the REAL situation or motive behind the news. LOL
Ask Kate she will tell you in no uncertain terms LOL
Thanks anita! More reading.... There really isn't enough time on many Sundays to get through it all. ( /complaining )
Great recap YaYa.
Thanks.
Interesting example of the difference:
On Saturday mornings DC Freepers go to a major intersection in the town of Olney, Md to show the Flag and support our troops. On the opposing corner Quaker/peacenik 'not in our namers' hold up signs.
A few weeks ago, after a snowfall that was followed by icy rain, both corners were covered with 3-4 inches of ice. Freepers went early and applied salt, went later and applied picks and shovels. On Saturday morning they stood on the concrete sidewalk.
The War is not the Answer crowd slip-slided on their four inches of ice as they tried to hold their balance and their signs.
